Zeus Wallet was offline due to a cyber security incident and is currently auditing the system.

Zeus Wallet is a self-hosted Bitcoin Lightning Internet Wallet. On Wednesday, the wallet took its infrastructure offline after encountering a cybersecurity incident and is currently conducting an audit of the system before resuming service.

Zeus issued an announcement on the X platform stating that the attack did not endanger the safety of user funds, and there was no evidence that the incident affected Lightning Node software. "Based on our current investigation, we believe this incident is limited to Zeus's infrastructure," Zeus founder Evan Kaloudis said in a company blog.

According to Kaloudis, Zeus took control of the attack within hours. He said users whose Lightning Service Provider (LSP) channels were closed during the incident will receive replacement channels after service is restored.

The company did not disclose the nature of the attack or provide a timetable for resuming operations. Zeus said the incident further highlighted the importance of the trusted execution environment (also known as an "enclave") it is advancing and the "Verify Lightning Signators"(VLS) project, which aims to strengthen infrastructure security.

Zeus 'action comes after it announced on Monday that it would disable switching. Previously, Boltz, the unmanaged bitcoin exchange service, decided to suspend operations. Boltz said its platform will remain closed until further notice.

The reporter asked Zeus for more details on this matter, but had not received a reply as of press time.
