XRP broke through the U.S. dollar barrier, leveraged clearing boosted the surge.
After XRP was suppressed near U.S. dollar for several consecutive trading days, the market suddenly repriced the token. The volatility pushed XRP to nearly $1.69, turning it from a narrow trading range into one of the strongest rallies in recent XRP price movements. BankXRP highlighted this trend with a CoinGlass liquidation heat chart, showing how leverage accelerated gains.
XRP frees off the $1 shackle
BankXRP wrote that XRP jumped from being "firmly locked at $1.00 for three consecutive days" to nearly $1.69. The chart supports this description. XRP had previously struggled near $1, confirming previous predictions that it would fall below $1. However, the situation changed rapidly in the rally that began around August 19.
The rebound then unfolded in multiple stages. XRP broke through US$1.10 and US$1.20, rose to around US$1.30, and then accelerated towards US$1.40. Above $1.40, momentum increased sharply, eventually soaring to $1.69, before falling back to $1.50.
Regulatory developments provide important background for this rally. U.S. President Donald Trump urged Congress to pass the CLARITY Act at a White House meeting on August 19. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission also continue to advance cryptocurrency rule development under their existing authority.
Where leverage accumulates
Heat maps add another dimension to price movements. Bright horizontal areas represent concentrated areas of clearing liquidity. The strongest area on the chart is around $1, which helps explain the importance of this key level before the breakout. CoinGlass describes its heat chart as an estimate of the price range where a large liquidation event is likely to occur.
As XRP climbs, the heat map shows additional liquidity around $1.20,$1.30,$1.40 and higher. Prices repeatedly entered these areas and then continued to rise. This structure helps explain why the rebound is so rapid. The rise in XRP prices may force the liquidation of leveraged short positions, and these liquidations create additional buying pressure, which in turn push prices towards the next liquidity concentration area.
Potential preparations for a second round of gains
BankXRP asked whether the US$1.45 to US$1.50 range would become a "launching pad for a second round of gains." Charts provide traders with a clear level of observation. If XRP holds on to the area and breaks through $1.60 again, a high of $1.69 will become the next major test. Breaking through that high would expose higher clearing liquidity between about $1.70 and $1.80, close to the range ChatGPT is expected to hit before September 1.
XRP has demonstrated how fast prices can fluctuate when they enter the centralized clearing area. If buyers regain control above $1.50, another rapid rise towards a higher liquidity range could follow.
