Breez launches Glow: Open Source Bitcoin Wallet and Developer Toolkit

Bitcoin software provider Breez has released a new application Glow, designed to serve ordinary users and developers who want to easily integrate Bitcoin features.

Dual-use app for users and developers

Glow aims to simplify users 'lightning online transactions while providing an open source foundation for developers building Bitcoin applications. Breez, known for his unmanaged Bitcoin solution, said Glow can be used both as a functional wallet for daily transactions and as a toolkit for developers to study best practices for Bitcoin integration.

The app comes pre-loaded with key features required by Bitcoin projects, such as passkey login, Lightning network addresses and stablecoin transfer support. With full transparency through open source code, Breez allows developers to accurately examine how each feature is implemented, lowering the threshold for teams unfamiliar with the complexity of Bitcoin technology.

Developers who want to add Bitcoin payment or wallet capabilities to their products can use Glow as a template, study its API calls, and integrate similar features without having to build components from scratch. Breez allows developers to fork, re-brand the Glow platform, and release it under its own label.

Reduce regulatory burdens

According to Breez, developers who use the Glow SDK do not hold user funds. This approach means that regulatory requirements can often be minimized, allowing teams to focus primarily on product development rather than compliance obligations.

Breez emphasized that developers can build apps on the Glow platform without having to manage or access customers 'cryptocurrency assets, because wallet private keys and control of funds are entirely in the hands of the end user. Developers can study how Lightning network addresses and other features are integrated in Glow, and then replicate these processes in their own applications while maintaining an unmanaged architecture.

Recent developments and collaborations

Glow's release follows the latest collaboration between Breez and Turnkey. Last month, Breez announced a collaboration that will allow developers to integrate unmanaged Bitcoin into their own server-hosted wallet apps. Under this architecture, encryption keys are managed outside of application servers, including Breez and Turnkey's. The back-end infrastructure only manages roles and permissions, while ultimate control of the transfer of funds remains with the user.

Breez and Turnkey said this solution solves a long-standing problem faced by large consumer applications-which hesitate to support Bitcoin due to unresolved hosting and compliance issues. The partnership provides a way for these platforms to add unmanaged Bitcoin capabilities without completely renovating existing back-end systems or assuming legal liability for user funds.

With Glow, Breez is committed to making Bitcoin app development easier, integrating available digital wallets with modular blueprints for developers to use.
