StarkWare implements first quantum-secure bitcoin transaction
StarkWare, the blockchain infrastructure company behind Starknet, the Ethereum second-layer network, said that the first quantum-secure bitcoin transaction has been successfully dug up on the main Bitcoin network. This provides a way for individual holders to protect their funds from potential future quantum attacks without waiting for a network-wide upgrade.
In a blog post posted on Wednesday, StarkWare announced that the transaction uses a method called "Quantum-Safe Bitcoin"(QSB). The method was developed by StarkWare researcher Avihu Levy, who first published relevant research in April this year. Later, StarkWare engineer Tomer Giladi transformed the solution into executable transactions on the main network.
