Wintermute's U.S. subsidiary is registered as a broker-dealer to expand traditional financial services

Wintermute's U.S. subsidiary has registered as a broker-dealer, allowing the cryptocurrency trading company to expand traditional financial services in the United States. On Thursday, Wintermute announced that its affiliate, Wintermute USA LLC, has completed registrations with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the U.S. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). The registration allows Wintermute USA to trade stocks and stock options and serve as an authorized participant in exchange-traded products, including products related to digital assets.

Wintermute said the registration allows the company to occupy a favorable position in the emerging field of tokenized securities. Evgeny Gaevoy, founder and CEO of Wintermute, said: "We have long believed that the digital asset market will move in multiple directions. Digital assets and traditional finance will continue to develop in parallel, meet in new ways, and ultimately achieve deeper integration. As the landscape evolves, successful companies will be those with both technical and operational experience and the ability to do business in both areas."

A broker-dealer is a financial entity that facilitates the trading of securities on behalf of customers, with its own account, or both. Authorized participants are drivers of the ETF creation and redemption process in the capital market.
