Bridge is a stablecoin infrastructure company owned by Stripe. Its operating entity, Bridge Building, is headquartered in Luxembourg. After obtaining regulatory approval from Luxembourg, it has officially joined the European Union's Cryptocurrency Asset Market Regulation (MiCA) registration list.

According to the latest update released by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) on Wednesday, Bridge's addition brings the number of MiCA-authorized electronic currency token (EMT) issuers on the EU Register to 42.

This addition comes after Bridge announced on July 2 that it had obtained a crypto-asset service provider (CASP) authorization under the MiCA framework and an electronic money institution (EMI) license issued by the Luxembourg Financial Supervisory Commission (CSSF). Mai Leduc Blount, head of Bridge products, said the approvals allow EU companies to build stablecoins and payment products under a regulated framework.

The same ESMA update also added three new CASP registrations from Germany, including Volksbank Die Gestalterbank, VBU Volksbank im Unterland and VR-Bank Erding, bringing the total number of authorized CASPs on the EU registry to 324.

The update shows that there have been no changes to asset reference token (ART) authorizations and there are still no ART issuers listed on the list. The list of non-compliant crypto asset companies has not changed.

ESMA has increased the frequency of updates to its MiCA registry in recent weeks, with multiple updates in July.
