CoinMarketCap Pro API adds real-world asset data interface

CoinMarketCap has expanded its Pro API with a new set of features that include seven real-world asset (RWA) endpoints, providing developers with a single programmable data source on tokenized versions of traditional financial instruments. These RWA endpoints, which cover tokenized stocks, commodities, currencies, government securities, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and real estate, are now officially launched.

Each RWA endpoint resolves assets with stable identifiers and covers the full data life cycle. The ID mapping endpoint and metadata endpoint return descriptive information and company information; the asset list endpoint and quote endpoint return the aggregated token price, market value, and 24-hour transaction volume; the market pair endpoint and issuer endpoint reveal the underlying chain tokens, their trading market and the issuer behind them. Core endpoints can be used in CoinMarketCap's free basic edition and above packages.

The release of the RWA API coincides with an important moment in the market. When SpaceX completed its public offering, CoinMarketCap released an RWA developer guide that showed how to obtain data on the company's tokenized stocks through the same endpoint, connecting this major traditional financial event with on-chain data in one workflow.

The new RWA endpoint further expands the already rich API products. Through a unified integration and credit system, the CoinMarketCap Pro API provides real-time and historical cryptocurrency prices, as well as centralized exchanges, decentralized exchanges (DEX), derivatives and clearing data. In addition, it provides proprietary indices, including the CoinMarketCap Fear and Greed Index and CMC20, as well as real-time WebSocket data streams. The platform provides proxy native access by hosting MCP servers, supports the pay-per-view x402 model, and introduces a public API that requires no keys, allowing developers to call select endpoints without an account or API key.

Rush, CEO of CoinMarketCap, said: "Developers should not piece together a dozen data providers to build a serious cryptocurrency product. By incorporating tokenized real-world assets into the same API-which already covers spot, derivatives, DEX and our market indices-we provide developers with a reliable source of data. Our goal is simple: to be the first and last data API the team needs."

Prior to this expansion, CoinMarketCap recently passed ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27701 certifications, which were independently evaluated by BSI to cover information security and privacy management of its platform and APIs.
