The valuation gap between XRP and Ripple reaches US$50 billion, and the market focuses on re-pricing signals
As one of the most watched digital assets, XRP continues to attract the attention of traders and analysts, despite a significant disconnect between its market price and the valuation of the financial technology company behind it, San Francisco-based Ripple. Industry observers point out that the gap could serve as a potential catalyst for major repricing in the coming months.
US$50 billion gap between Ripple and XRP
Ripple is known for its blockchain payment solutions to global financial institutions, with a private valuation of US$50 billion. However, Digital Asset Investor, an advocate and analyst in the cryptocurrency community, pointed out that the current market price of XRP does not reflect Ripple's huge corporate valuation. "The market has not yet factored this gap into prices," he explained. He believes that when this difference is finally absorbed by the market, it may push XRP to a record high.
Analyst Modern Investor set a target price of US$28 for XRP, and Digital Asset Investor agreed. He expected a major move and stressed: "I think it will go to $28 a piece or even higher."
Digital Asset Investor predicts that the disconnect between Ripple's US$50 billion valuation and the current price of XRP has not yet been priced by the market, and he expects future changes in regulatory policies to trigger sharp fluctuations in the asset's price.
September repricing and regulatory clarity
The potential for XRP repricing is closely related to expected regulatory progress. During a recent discussion, a guest who spoke with digital media personality Paul Barron painted a scenario: Digital asset regulations could become clearer in September or October. Under these conditions, he estimates that the price of XRP could increase by 50% to 100%. Digital Asset Investor believes that there may be more room for upside.
Brian Quintenz, Chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), has stated that the agency will advance regulation of crypto market structures regardless of whether the CLARITY Act passes Congress. Digital Asset Investor interprets this as a possibility that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the CFTC will move forward independently to accelerate regulatory progress around XRP and similar assets.
Dictionary: CLARITY Act-A proposed U.S. legislative bill intended to clarify the regulatory treatment of digital assets, specifically distinguishing which assets are securities or commodities. Its progress is believed to have an impact on the entire crypto market.
Whales continue to increase their holdings during price declines
Chain data shows that large investors known as "whales" are steadily increasing their XRP holdings. Information from blockchain analysis platform Sanitation shows that in the past three months, the number of wallets holding at least 1 million XRPs has increased by 32. This trend of increased holdings occurred against the backdrop of a 29% decline in XRP's total market value.
What is striking about this behavior is that large holders expand exposure during periods of weak prices. Analysts believe that the divergence between whale activity and falling market value is an important indicator of future trends.
Institutional adoption and XLS-96 upgrade
In addition to price and regulatory speculation, technology upgrades have also attracted attention. Digital Asset Investor discussed XLS-96, a proposed amendment to introduce confidential transfer functionality to the XRP ledger. This feature will allow encryption of balances and transaction amounts, addressing privacy needs that previously restricted agency participation.
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has pointed out that privacy is a key factor in attracting large institutions to public blockchain networks such as XRP ledgers. Other voices in the community, such as analyst Evernorth, see XLS-96 as an important step towards more private and secure institutional transactions on XRP.
Small Dictionary: XLS-96-A proposed XRP ledger update that supports confidential transfers of Multi-Function Tokens (MPTs). The goal is to enhance transaction privacy for institutional and corporate users while maintaining compliance and auditability.
