Binance will remove eight USDC full-position margin trading pairs on August 21, and three trading pairs will also lose position-by-position margin support.
Binance will remove eight USDC margin trading pairs from its full-position margin platform at 06:00 (UTC) on August 21. According to Binance's announcement, three of the trading pairs will also withdraw from the position-by-position margin market at the same time as part of the exchange's adjustment of the margin market it supports.
The eight affected full margin trading pairs include: AUCTION/USDC, BEAMX/USDC, CETUS/USDC, HUMA/USDC, LAYER/USDC, NXPC/USDC, UMA/USDC and VELODROME/USDC. Among them, the three trading pairs HUMA/USDC, LAYER/USDC and NXPC/USDC will also lose position-by-position margin support.
Binance has stopped users from transferring assets related to these three trading pairs to their position-by-position margin accounts. This restriction covers manual transfers and automated transfer models on exchanges. However, traders holding existing positions still have time to manage their exposure before Binance completes the removal process.
Binance set August 18 as the lending deadline, and then fully removed
Binance deposits will suspend position-by-position margin lending for the three trading pairs HUMA/USDC, LAYER/USDC and NXPC/USDC at 06:00 (UTC) on August 18. The lending suspension is an important step before these markets are removed as planned.
On August 21, Binance will close all users 'positions on the affected margin trading pairs, conduct automatic settlement, and cancel all relevant pending orders. Binance expects that the removal process will take approximately three hours, during which time users will not be able to update positions. Therefore, Binance recommends that users close affected positions before removing the shelves or transfer assets from margin accounts to spot accounts.
Completing these operations early helps traders avoid possible losses due to automatic settlement during the removal process. It is worth noting that this announcement only concerns margin support for the listed trading pairs and does not affect broader token trading.
BNB smart chain wallet maintenance is scheduled to take place on August 20.
In addition to the removal of margin trading pairs, Binance will also carry out wallet maintenance on BNB smart chain at 06:00 (UTC) on August 20. During the maintenance period, recharge and withdrawal through the BEP20 network will be temporarily suspended.
Binance will suspend BEP20 recharge and withdrawal five minutes before maintenance starts (i.e. 05:55 UTC). The exchange estimates that wallet maintenance will take about an hour.
However, token transactions supported on the BNB smart chain can still proceed normally during maintenance. Once the network's wallet service meets operational requirements, Binance will resume recharge and withdrawal.
Summary
Binance users holding eight affected USDC margin trading pairs face several important deadlines before the release on August 21. Three of them will face borrowing restrictions earlier, and automatic settlement will be applied during the final removal process.
In addition, BNB smart chain users will experience a temporary wallet service interruption on August 20. During this maintenance period, token transactions will not be affected.
