MoonPay has now included Cash App Pay in its payment method, and eligible U.S. users can directly use the Cash App account balance to purchase digital assets. The company announced the integration on August 18, and it is understood that Cash App's cryptocurrency support is no longer limited to Bitcoin and USDC.

This move connects MoonPay's deposit channel with Cash App's huge user base. MoonPay claims to be the first platform to provide Cash App Pay to eligible U.S. users to purchase digital assets.

Block's Cash App has previously provided users with Bitcoin and USDC transaction services. Through integration with MoonPay, the types of assets that users can purchase with their existing balances have been further expanded.

What assets can Cash App users buy now?

According to relevant reports, Cash App users can now purchase assets such as Ethereum, Solana, XRP and USDT, which previously only supported Bitcoin and USDC. Solana also pointed out that users can directly use Cash App balances to purchase tokens on their network through MoonPay.

MoonPay said that this new feature means that Cash App users can directly recharge their wallets or complete purchases without first transferring funds to a bank card or transferring funds through bank transfers.

Competition in the deposit channel intensifies

This cooperation is part of a broader trend of deposit service providers combining payment balances that users are familiar with cryptocurrency settlement. MoonPay positions this addition to expand the channels for users who already hold Cash App balances, while emphasizing that there are limitations on applicability and eligibility conditions.
