XRP Ledger's funded accounts exceeded 8 million, with the top 1% holding 44,896 XRP

XRP Ledger ushered in a new milestone. As of the end of August, the number of its funded accounts had exceeded 8 million. Cryptocurrency analyst John Squire (pseudonym @TheCryptoSquire) released the latest data from the XRPL Rich List, which suggests that XRP is expanding and more widely distributed among global holders.

Update on the threshold of the rich list

According to data shared by Squire, the total number of accounts invested in XRP is approximately 8,040,000. The continued growth in the number of accounts highlights the popularity of the XRP ecosystem. To be in the top 10% of all funded XRP wallets, an account needs to hold at least 2,151 XRP, which covers approximately 804,215 accounts. The threshold for the top 5% was raised to 7,503 XRP, corresponding to 402,108 wallets. To enter the top 1% requires 44,896 XRP and is held by 80,422 accounts. It is worth noting that the top 0.1% tier requires each wallet to hold at least 275,420 XRP, and only 8,037 accounts reach this level. The top tier-the top 0.01%, consists of only 804 accounts, each holding 3,836,116 XRP or more.

The following are specific data for each level: the top 10% needs to hold 2,151 XRP, corresponding to 804,215 accounts; the top 5% needs to hold 7,503 XRP, corresponding to 402,108 accounts; the top 1% needs to hold 44,896 XRP, corresponding to 80,422 accounts; the top 0.1% needs to hold 275,420 XRP, corresponding to 8,037 accounts; The top 0.01% needs to hold 3,836,116 XRP, corresponding to 804 accounts. There are currently more than 8 million funded XRP accounts, with 2,151 XRP required to enter the top 10%, while the top 1% is reserved for holders holding at least 44,896 XRP.

Community Participation and Discussion

Squire encourages XRP holders to check their place on the leaderboard, triggering widespread community participation. Several holders responded and revealed their rankings: one participant claimed to be in the top 5%, and another said he had entered the top 2%. Others confirmed their place in the top 0.1% of the elite hierarchy. One user explained that he holds approximately 2,200 XRP, which puts him right within the top 10%. Another community member, Doug Cass, questioned the figure of 8 million accounts, arguing that many people may manage multiple wallets, which could lead to an overestimation of the actual number of independent holders.

Changes in threshold indicate increased participation

Current milestones reflect overall trends for XRP Ledger. Compared with mid-July, the threshold for entering each percentile has dropped slightly, indicating that more accounts are spreading their holdings. For example, the entry threshold for the top 10% dropped from 2,155 XRP to 2,151 XRP; the top 5% dropped from 7,507 XRP to 7,503 XRP; and the top 1% dropped from 45,000 XRP to 44,896 XRP. Lower entry barriers at higher levels mean increased decentralization, as more users hold a smaller share of the circulating supply. A direct comparison with previous months shows that even as the number of Internet subscribers increases, the conditions required to be regarded as a "big player" are gradually decreasing.

The continued growth in the number of funded accounts indicates that XRP Ledger's user base is expanding in real time, and participation in all holding ranges is increasing. This update highlights the continued expansion of XRP Ledger, a distributed ledger technology that supports XRP tokens, in existing and new markets as adoption rates increase.
