XRP community discusses DTCC Learning Center AI-generated answers

A screenshot posted by cryptocurrency enthusiast Pumpius on the X platform has sparked new discussions within the XRP community. The screenshot shows that the American Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) Learning Center generated an answer about how XRP collateral is handled.

While Pumpius believes this result supports the view that XRP will receive a higher valuation in institutional finance, other community members are quick to point out that the answer was generated by AI and not an official DTCC policy document.

The screenshot sparked controversy

The picture released by Pumpius shows that "XRP" was entered in the search bar of the DTCC Learning Center. The page displays an AI-generated answer titled "XRP Discount Rates and Classification", which states that mortgage discount rates will vary depending on the XRP price.

Pumpius interprets this answer as meaning that institutions need XRP prices above $5 to use it as collateral. He pointed out that the generated responses showed that when XRP prices were $5 or less, the discount rate could be as high as 100%, which means the mortgage value was almost zero due to volatility or liquidity issues.

In contrast, XRPs priced above $5 will receive a significantly reduced discount rate, typically around 35%, or based on a value-at-risk model, allowing institutions to identify a greater proportion of their value as collateral.

Correlation with XRP's past remarks

Based on this interpretation, Pumpius linked the AI-generated responses to the remarks of several well-known people in the XRP ecosystem. He quoted Ripple's chief technology officer David Schwartz's previous statement that XRP cannot maintain extremely low prices if it wants to support large-scale payment traffic.

Pumpius also cited SBI Holdings CEO Yoshitaka Kitao, who expressed confidence in the long-term adoption of XRP by Japanese banks and believed that wider institutional use could ultimately lead to significantly higher valuations.

Based on these citations, Pumpius believes that DTCC's search results are consistent with earlier belief that XRP needs to appreciate in value to effectively serve institutional application scenarios.

Community members call for caution

Not everyone accepts this interpretation. In response, community member Amanda pointed out that the content displayed should not be regarded as official guidance from DTCC because it is clearly marked as AI-generated answers. She said the search generated the example after failing to find documents that directly targeted XRP, adding that although she supported XRP, the result should not be considered evidentiary value.

XRPL verification node Vet also expressed his views on this screenshot. He explained that the responses generated were based on the NSCC Risk Margin Guidelines, not DTCC's official documents for XRP. He pointed out that the underlying source did not mention XRP, and that the DTCC search system only tried to map user query content through its AI-driven answering function.

Vet further stated that the reason why AI generated XRP-related answers is likely because users have recently conducted a large number of searches on XRP. In his view, the system is responding to search trends rather than citing DTCC's existing XRP policies.

So, while Pumpius presented the screenshot as evidence supporting the asset's long-term institutional potential, the response of other members of the XRP community emphasized that the AI-generated answers should not be interpreted as DTCC's official position on XRP mortgage requirements.
