Augustus raises US$180 million to build a "global dollar bank" that supports stablecoins

A startup called Augustus, which is committed to building a federally chartered clearing bank focusing on stablecoins and programmable currencies, has completed a US$180 million Series B financing, with a valuation of US$1 billion.

This round of financing was led by Tiger Global, with Hummingbird and QED participating. The founders of Nubank, Ramp, Circle and Deel, as well as Circle co-founder Sean Neville, former Coinbase CTO Balaji Srinivasan and Rain's Farooq Malik also participated in the round. Augustus said that the total financing amount currently has reached US$210 million.
