Upbit will launch the Block Street (BSB) Korean won, bitcoin and USDT markets on August 7.
Upbit will add a new Block Street (BSB) trading pair in its Korean won, bitcoin and USDT markets on August 7, providing three new spot trading pairs for the token in the Korean market.
Core Points
Upbit will open BSB trading in the Korean won, Bitcoin and USDT markets on August 7.
BSB's recharge and withdrawal will only support the Ethereum network, and other networks will not support it.
Upbit will suspend buy orders for approximately five minutes after trading opens and limit unlimited orders for approximately two hours.
Block Street said BSB supports governance, pledge and incentive functions in its tokenized asset infrastructure ecosystem.
The Block Street document clarifies that the total supply of BSB on the Ethereum and BNB chains is 1 billion pieces.
Transaction Details and Restrictions
According to Upbit's official announcement, transactions will start at 3:00 pm Korean Standard Time, and initially only top-ups and withdrawals through the Ethereum network will be supported. Upbit also warned that if there is insufficient liquidity, trading starts may be delayed. The exchange reminds users to be sure to confirm the supported networks before transferring a BSB, as deposits sent over non-supported networks may require a long return process.
Upbit will implement a number of restrictions during BSB opening hours. Buy orders will be suspended for approximately five minutes after trading begins. At the same time, sell orders whose prices are more than 10% lower than the closing price of the previous trading day will also be restricted. In addition, only limit orders are allowed for approximately two hours after trading support begins. The previous closing price mentioned in the announcement was 211.09 won, and the reference price at 11:45 am (Korean Standard Time) on August 7 was 222.34 won. These data were released before the start of Upbit trading and do not represent the market reaction after listing.
The announcement clarifies the Ethereum contract addresses supported by BSB, and users should carefully check them before recharging and withdrawing cash.
Block Street Project Overview
Block Street claims to be an on-chain capital market infrastructure focusing on tokenized stocks and real-world assets. According to official project documents, its architecture is designed to connect fragmented liquidity between issuers, blockchain and trading venues. The agreement calls this infrastructure a "unified liquidity layer" and aims to improve execution efficiency and capital efficiency of tokenized assets, while supporting functions such as lending, margin, hedging and arbitrage.
BSB is the utility and governance token for the agreement. According to Block Street's BSB documentation, holders can use the token to participate in governance, pledge, and obtain ecosystem incentives. The project white paper fixed the total supply of BSBs at 1 billion and stated that at the time of the token generation event, 207.75 million (20.775% of the total supply) were expected to enter circulation. The project also builds infrastructure through external financing, and announced the completion of US$11.5 million in strategic financing in October 2025.
Notes after BSB trading launches
Focus on trading that Upbit plans to start on August 7 at 3:00 pm (Korean Standard Time). Since the exchange has set the launch conditions as sufficient liquidity, the announcement time may still change. Once trading begins, Upbit's initial restrictions will be lifted in stages: the five-minute limit for buy orders and low sell orders will end first, while the limit order limit will remain for approximately two hours. At the time of the announcement, Upbit's market reaction could not be confirmed as trading had not yet begun. Users must continue to use the Ethereum network when making deposits and check the contract address specified in the announcement. Although Block Street's white paper describes the deployment of BSB on the Ethereum and BNB chains, Upbit's announcement only supports the Ethereum network, a distinction that remains important after replenishment and transaction activation, because transfers made over non-supported networks may not be automatically credited.
