Ripple votes in favor of fixCleanup3_3_0 amendment to promote XRPL 3.3.0 upgrade

Ripple has voted in favor of the fixCleanup3_3_0 amendment on XRP Ledger, providing the first major endorsement of the XRPL 3.3.0 upgrade from one of the network's major contributors.

FixCleanup3_3_0 Amendment Coverage

The fixCleanup3_3_0 proposal is a bundled maintenance package that provides targeted fixes to multiple protocol areas, including single asset vaults, lending agreements, automated market makers, checks and fake accounts. It is one of six amendments introduced with version 3.3.0, with other amendments including Confidential Transfer, BatchV1_1, DynamicMPT, PermissionDelegationV1_1 and Sponsor.

In addition to the amendment itself, version 3.3.0 also brought significant performance improvements. Developers pointed out that memory usage has been reduced by 10% to 15%, online deletion and node synchronization performance has been improved, and approximately 60 vulnerabilities have been identified and fixed through the internal AI red team process.

Conditions to be met before the main network is activated

Ripple's vote has a certain weight as an early signal, but it cannot determine the outcome alone. Currently, 8 of the 35 unique node list validators support the fixCleanup3_3_0 amendment. Mainnet activation requires the proposal to continue to have more than 80% of validators support (i.e., at least 28 of 35 UNL validators) for two weeks before the changes take effect permanently.

This governance structure is a standard process for XRP Ledger. Once the amendment reaches the 80% threshold within the required two weeks, the change will apply permanently to all subsequent ledger versions. The validator makes the decision independently, and if the support rating falls below the threshold during this period, the proposal may fail or be postponed.

Node operators face actual deadlines associated with this process. Servers that are not upgraded to xrpld 3.3.0 before the amendment is activated may fall into an "amendment blocked" state, which will prevent nodes from participating in consensus and reading or submitting new transactions.

This 3.3.0 upgrade is seen as a step towards institutional readiness for XRP Ledger, with features that include privacy protection of tokenized assets, atomic transaction batch processing, delegated account rights, and sponsored network fees.
