CORE prices seem to have awakened... maybe

Short-term rebound, but a long way to go

CoreDAO's native token,$CORE, is showing initial signs of recovery. According to CoinGecko, the token has risen for seven consecutive trading days, the first consecutive rise since a significant price surge about three months ago (April 2026). During the same period, the volume of decentralized exchanges on the Internet also rose, at least indicating a slight increase in on-chain activity.

However, this optimism needs to be viewed with caution.$ CORE has still fallen nearly 20% in the past 30 days, making the long-term trend more severe. The token hit an all-time low on July 27, 2026, and its current price has dropped more than 99% from the all-time high of US$6.47 set in February 2023.

Token-economy model adjustment and Bitcoin finance shift

CoreDAO has not stopped moving forward. The project's 2026 roadmap outlines a major structural reform aimed at reshaping the way value flows within the agreement. The agreement will no longer burn a portion of block rewards and fees, but instead shift to using ecosystem revenue generated by Bitcoin DeFi activities, including pledge proceeds and liquidity pledge tokens, to systematically repurchase $CORE tokens from the open market, aiming to create sustainable demand pressure on the supply side.

At the heart of this strategy is SatPay, a product CoreDAO has built on its network that resembles a new bank. SatPay will directly integrate lending markets, decentralized exchanges and other Bitcoin financial applications into a unified environment. Every deposit, loan and yield strategy implemented through SatPay will strengthen the demand for $CORE through usage, pledge, fuel consumption, and continued buying pressure.

In terms of infrastructure, a series of subsequent upgrades to Core in 2026 are aimed at further improving performance, and the network is expected to achieve the finality of sub-second block confirmation. Core positions itself as the next generation of first-level blockchain, adopting a consensus mechanism called "Satoshi Nakamoto Plus", which aims to solve the blockchain trilemma by combining security, scalability and decentralization.

It remains to be seen whether these recent gains are real trend reversals or short-term easing rebounds. Short-term price movements are encouraging, but $CORE's recovery will ultimately depend on whether the team can realize its Bitcoin DeFi vision and generate the real network revenue needed to maintain its repurchase commitments.
