Wallets linked to the BONK treasury attack transfer another 400 billion BONK to Coinbase
According to a report spread through Telegram, wallets linked to the BONK treasury attack reportedly sent another 400 billion BONK to Coinbase, bringing the total number transferred to the Centralized Exchange (CEX) to 1.626 trillion. This data has not yet been verified on the chain.
Another 400 billion BONK has reportedly been transferred to Coinbase
According to unconfirmed news, on-chain tracker Lookonchain has marked the latest transfer of 400 billion BONK to Coinbase and shared it through a Telegram report. As of press time, no independent transaction hashes or wallet addresses have been confirmed. The deposit was attributed to an address associated with the BonkDAO treasury attacker who stole about $20 million after spending about $4 million to pass a malicious governance proposal. Previous reports detailed the attack path and described how attackers used governance votes to obtain treasury funds.
Total BONK associated with CEX rose to 1.626 trillion
According to the same Telegram report, and with the latest deposit, the cumulative number of BONK sent by attackers linked wallets to centralized exchanges has now reached 1.626 trillion. This total is described as the cumulative value of multiple transfers rather than a single transfer. This statement is important: the latest deposit is described as one step in a series of transfers to an exchange, rather than an isolated wallet move. BONK has been launched on multiple mainstream trading platforms, providing multiple liquidity exit points for attackers 'associated funds.
Why traders pay attention to Coinbase inflows after the release of the report
The flow of large deposits to centralized exchanges usually attracts attention, as inflows are often seen as a precursor to potential selling pressure. The transfers in this report mainly focus on duplicate deposits linked to the attacker, thus further exacerbating this concern. There are no confirmed selling activities related to these deposits, and the total amount on the chain cited in the Telegram report has not been independently verified. Until the transaction hash and receiving address are confirmed on Solscan, the two figures of 400 billion and 1.626 trillion should be regarded as "reported" rather than "corroboration." Security researchers have studied the BonkDAO incident as a governance risk case, and relevant analysis explores how attackers can use paid proposals to reach treasury funds.
