Cardano completed the golden fork on the hourly chart, and at the same time activated hard forks through on-chain governance for the first time.
Cardano achieved a technical milestone and completed the golden fork form on the hourly chart. This bullish cross is formed when the 50-period moving average crosses the 200-period moving average upwards, and traders usually view it as a positive signal.
V11 hard fork launched, introducing on-chain governance
While the golden fork appeared, Cardano also reached a historic node in network upgrades. Intersect, a key membership organization supporting Cardano development, confirmed that the V11 (van Rossem) hard fork has been officially launched on the main network. This is the first time the network has been fully approved through Cardano's on-chain governance mechanism.
The distinctive feature of the V11 hard fork is the introduction of on-chain voting by proxy representatives (DReps), as well as pledge pool operators (SPOs) and the Cardano Constitutional Committee (CC). The hard fork activates version 11 of the protocol, allowing the Cardano community to participate more broadly in protocol development and setting a precedent for future network upgrades.
Mini Dictionary: Intersect is a membership-based organization that plays a central role in the development and governance of Cardano, bringing together all forces of the Cardano ecosystem to coordinate upgrades and community initiatives.
The browser platform cexplorer also reported that the V11 hard fork was successfully deployed on the main network, indicating that the network is operating stably.
Technology and Protocol Improvements
In addition to governance changes, the V11 upgrade also includes enhancements to Cardano smart contract platform Plutus and updates to Plutus cost model. The upgrade also sets the stage for Cardano's next development phase, the Dijkstra era, when the Ouroboros Leios consensus agreement will be introduced. Other additions include enhanced primitives, improved VRF key uniqueness, and updated reference input rules.
Mini Dictionary: Ouroboros Leios is Cardano's upcoming consensus protocol that aims to improve security and scalability by introducing new block generation and transaction confirmation mechanisms.
ADA Price Trend and Key Technical Levels
As of press time, the ADA trading price was US$0.165, up 0.55% in 24 hours. Despite the short-term gold cross, ADA's price volatility was limited and remained below the daily 50-cycle moving average, which constituted upward resistance. In July, prices tried twice to break through this daily MA50 level and initially rose, but both encountered resistance. This persistent pattern keeps ADA within a stable range and prevents significant progress.
The market believes that ADA needs to decisively break through the daily MA50, currently at US$0.168, to resume bullish momentum and is expected to challenge the daily MA200, which is at US$0.256. If downward pressure continues, around US$0.13 may become support.
Technical indicators: Current value: hourly chart 50/200 moving average (golden cross)-50 line crosses the 200 line, short-term bullish signal. Daily line MA50--0.168 US dollars, resistance level. Daily MA200--0.256 US dollars, upward target. Current support level-US$0.13, potential support.
Cardano's latest hard fork not only brings protocol improvements, but also marks the first time that a network upgrade has been advanced entirely through on-chain governance approval, expanding community representation in decision-making and preparing for the future of the ecosystem.
