Charles Hoskinson: The rise of Anthropic is Cardano's blueprint

Charles Hoskinson: Cardano may benefit from Anthropic disciplinary development

Charles Hoskinson said that Cardano (ADA) may benefit from the same disciplined development strategy as Anthropic, which has helped it challenge larger artificial intelligence companies.

Key Points

Hoskinson compares Cardano's research-led approach with Anthropic's rise among mature AI companies.

He cited the $292 million utilization of Kelp DAO, arguing that rapid development could lead to the spread of risks in decentralized finance.

The ADA is still about 95% below its all-time high, putting pressure on Cardano's long-term strategy.

Cardano Strategy

In a recent interview, Hoskinson said that although Anthropic started later than Google and OpenAI in the field of artificial intelligence, it has still made progress. He believes that Anthropic's advantages stem from its consistent development philosophy, rather than simply pursuing faster product release speeds.

Hoskinson pointed out that as attacks expose weaknesses in cross-connection protocols, cryptocurrency developers and investors are increasingly focusing on security, governance and sustainability roadmaps.

"People are beginning to realize, especially in the era of artificial intelligence hackers, that everything can be compromised." he said.

He referred to the April attack on Kelp DAO, which involved approximately $292 million in rsETH because forged cross-chain messages compromised its bridging configuration. Attackers used fraudulent assets as collateral for Aave and other lending platforms, showing how problems in a system can spread in decentralized finance.

ADA Outlook

Hoskinson said that lasting stability requires clear governance, rigorous software development, and a roadmap that the team can maintain. He admitted that Cardano made mistakes during the long development process, adding that as a leader, he took on most of the responsibility.

This argument faces a severe market test. According to CoinGecko data, Cardano's market value on July 24 was approximately US$6.26 billion, ranking 19th; the ADA trading price was approximately US$0.17, down approximately 95% from the all-time high of US$3.09 set in September 2021.

Hoskinson expects strong network growth over the next 12 to 24 months, but adoption rates and token performance will determine whether this slower approach can gain wider support. Cardano has always emphasized peer-reviewed research and phased upgrades, but this approach has also attracted criticism for slowing ecological expansion, while faster competitors attract users and capital.
