Odos Stop Operations: User Notes and Instructions
Odos is a popular decentralized exchange aggregator designed to help users find efficient token redemption paths between different DEXs and liquidity sources. The agreement does not hold user funds, but allows traders to connect to their wallets and directly perform on-chain transactions. During this process, users always have full control of assets and funds will not be separated from their custody.
However, the operating company behind it announced on July 23 that it would phase out operations and the application would enter read-only mode on July 27. All company-operated services will be permanently closed on July 30, 2026.
Theteam emphasized that Odos adopts an unmanaged model and provided instructions for users who need different guidance. The following will answer the common questions you may be most concerned about.
What do July 27 and July 30 mean for Odos DEX?
Can I still use Odos for token redemption?
Yes, but only for a limited time. Existing users can continue to use the platform normally until July 27. At that time, the application will switch to read-only mode. From that day until July 30, users can only view their wallet balances and transaction history, and cannot perform new redemption or any other interactive functions.
Can I still create a new account or wallet?
No. Since the announcement of the cessation of operations on July 23, the functions of registering new accounts, creating wallets through Odos, and adding limited orders have been disabled.
Will my cryptocurrency disappear after shutting down?
No. As mentioned earlier, Odos uses an unmanaged model, which means the company does not hold any of your funds. Your cryptocurrency remains on the corresponding blockchain and is under your own control, not Odos.
Do I need to transfer funds?
I am connected to MetaMask, Rabby, Ledger or other wallet. What do I need to do?
In most cases, it is not required. If you are using a self-managed wallet, your assets can still be accessed through that wallet after Odos is shut down. You just need to continue using other aggregators or DeFi apps.
I created a wallet through Google, Apple, email, or other social login, what should I do?
If you created a wallet directly using a social account or email login through Odos, the company recommends that you transfer assets to another wallet or export your private key before July 30. Although the official Odos page will still provide instructions on accessing the wallet after it is closed, completing the operation early can reduce the risk of unnecessary trouble in the future.
Will ODOS tokens disappear?
No. ODOS tokens exist on the chain and operate independently of the aggregator. According to the company, it does not manage the token and does not act as its market maker. This means that the shutdown will not change its underlying on-chain mechanisms.
Theteam also stated that Odos DAO is independent of the company's operations and will communicate any future decisions on its own.
