Cryptocurrency losses exceed US$1 billion in the first half of 2026

According to the security report for the first half of 2026 released by blockchain security platform Blockaid, in the first six months of 2026, cryptocurrency losses exceeded US$1 billion, setting a record for the highest number of hacking attacks in any half-year period.

Ethereum leads all networks with approximately US$332 million in stolen funds, while Solana followed closely with approximately US$326 million, replacing Arbitrum, which previously ranked second. Blockaid tracked 212 independent security incidents during this period, the largest of which targeted KelpDAO, causing losses of $292 million.

The platform also pointed out that the number of high-threshold attacks it verified in the first half of 2026 was 3.4 times that of the whole of 2025.
