Robinhood's second-quarter revenue and profits hit new highs, and cryptocurrency transaction fee income fell sharply.

Robinhood recorded record revenue and profits in the second quarter, but cryptocurrency transaction fee income, which had driven the company's growth, fell significantly from the same period last year. Total revenue for the quarter reached US$1.31 billion, a year-on-year increase of 32%; net income increased 48% to US$573 million.

Cryptocurrency revenue suffers impact

Cryptocurrency trading revenue was US$100 million, down 38% from approximately US$160 million in the same period in 2025. Total cryptocurrency trading volume during the quarter was US$40 billion, of which US$18 billion came from Robinhood apps and US$22 billion came from Bitstamp, a cryptocurrency exchange acquired by Robinhood in June 2025. Trading volume remained stable while transaction fee income fell, indicating that margins on cryptocurrency trading were compressed during the quarter. Robinhood did not elaborate on the reasons in his earnings report.

Robinhood's share price fell 3.15% before the July 29 earnings report.

New Products and Acquisitions

During the quarter, Robinhood launched the Robinhood Chain public chain and provided tokenized U.S. stocks to users in more than 120 countries. At the same time, Robinhood Earn, a decentralized lending product, was launched. Nearly 100,000 accounts have registered for the Agenda Trading feature, which allows users to automate specific investment operations, and these accounts manage more than $100 million in assets. Robinhood also completed the acquisition of Canadian cryptocurrency platform WonderFi and said it plans to expand its cryptocurrency services in the UK.
