Flare announced that FXRP will launch the Morpho lending market, XRP will enter a new phase in DeFi
Flare recently announced that its FXRP tokens are now allowed to be used as collateral for Sentora's RLUSD vault on the Morpho platform. This marks a new step for XRP in the field of decentralized finance. The update allows XRP holders to access the lending market on Ethereum without having to sell their assets.
This integration was achieved after Sentora approved FXRP for its institution-managed RLUSD vault on August 3, 2026. The vault holds approximately US$280 million in RLUSD and has added a dedicated FXRP/RLUSD market on Morpho Blue.
FXRP has been approved as collateral for Ethereum loans
This is the first time that XRP has been accepted as collateral by the institutional lending vault on the Ethereum main network. Users can borrow RLUSD by forging FXRP through Flare's FAssets system and transferring it to Ethereum through Stargate, while maintaining exposure to XRP.
The lending market is open to all users and no whitelist is required before participating. A supply cap was set at launch and is expected to adjust accordingly as liquidity grows.
Commenting on this milestone, Flare co-founder and CEO Hugo Philion said that limited infrastructure over the years has limited the use of XRP in decentralized finance. He added that the approval shows that institutional risk managers now view FXRP as collateral on Ethereum, rather than just another bridging asset.
Jesus Rodriguez, co-founder and chief technology and product officer of Sentora, agreed, saying that the integration introduced XRP into the online credit market. He pointed out that this development expands the practical use of XRP in decentralized lending.
Risk Control and Future Development
Before approving the asset, Sentora completed a review covering market behavior, price predictors, liquidity and clearing mechanisms. The company said FXRP will continue to be subject to the same monitoring process as other approved collateralized assets.
Morpho Blue isolates each lending market, thereby limiting potential risk to a specific FXRP/RLUSD fund pool. This structure also provides the market with an independent oracle system and clearing parameters.
Under this setting, borrowers will pay interest based on market utilization and must maintain sufficient collateral to avoid liquidation. Flare is developing smart accounts that will allow users to complete the entire process directly from the XRP ledger wallet. The company is also moving forward with the transfer of FXRP directly from the XRP ledger to Ethereum.
