Aave and Uniswap push OKX X Layer DeFi to record high

The X Layer, the Ethereum second-layer network built by the OKX Exchange, has become a rising star in the DeFi field in the summer of 2026. The total locked value (TVL) of the chain exceeded US$100 million, and the supply of stablecoins has also reached US$2 billion.

X Layer has achieved these milestones thanks to its integration of the two major DeFi protocols, Aave and Uniswap. Among them, Uniswap is one of the main catalysts for Robinhood Chain's rapid popularity after its launch on July 1.

Although Robinhood Chain has not yet integrated Aave, within 9 days after it connected to Uniswap and its competitor lending agreement Morpho, the number of daily trading users exceeded 220,000, and the cumulative transaction volume exceeded US$1 billion. The payoff goes both ways: DeFiLlama data cited by Uniswap founder Hayden Adams in mid-July showed that $4.38 million of Uniswap's $5.16 million daily fees came from Robinhood Chain.

OKX's X Layer has achieved breakthroughs in recent months

OKX Wallet announced on August 6 that the DeFi TVL of the X Layer Ethereum L2 network has exceeded US$100 million, a tenfold increase in the past six months. The account also emphasized that X Layer ranks among the top ten in public blockchain stablecoin issuance, and the supply of stablecoin also exceeded the US$2 billion mark during the same period. Cumulative active addresses and on-chain transactions are also climbing, exceeding 4.2 million and 400 million respectively.

DeFiLlama's data also confirms X Layer's growth. As of the time of publication of this article, its TVL was US$116.27 million, up 5.26% on the day; the market value of the stablecoin reached US$2.07 billion. Unlike most chains where USDT and USDC dominate, OKX's USDG accounts for 94.11% of the X Layer.

In the past week, X Layer's decentralized exchange (DEX) transaction volume reached US$520.65 million, an increase of 25%.

Aave and Uniswap lead X Layer's DeFi activities

Uniswap will land on X Layer on January 19, 2026. Aave went online more than two months later on March 30, running the V3.6 version and equipped with six dedicated efficiency models. "By expanding to the X Layer, Aave connects its mobility to a growing ecosystem of users and applications," said Stani Kulechov, founder of Aave Labs.

These two protocols rank first in DeFiLlama's ranking of this chain protocols. Aave V3 led the way with $85.34 million in locked positions, followed by Uniswap with $21.24 million, a nearly 59% increase in the past week. Together, the two account for X Layer's main DeFi share.

Some points to pay attention to in network handling fees

An important background on total fees is that they do not always translate into negotiated revenue. Of the approximately US$5.2 million a day for Uniswap due to the Robinhood Chain craze, DeFiLlama showed that the actual 24-hour revenue was only US$73,454, as most of the money went to liquidity providers rather than treasury or token holders. The same difference applies to the X Layer. Deep liquidity pools and high trading volumes indicate that the chain is widely used, but do not necessarily mean that it generates profits.
