ADA up 18% week, mainstream altcoins sideways: Can Cardano hit $0.30?

Although Bitcoin and other large-cap altcoins have experienced some volatility this week, most currencies are approaching another rather depressed trading period, with little movement at the weekly (or even monthly) level. However, Cardano's native tokens bucked the trend and rose.

In the past seven days, the ADA has risen 18% and briefly exceeded the psychological level of $0.20 for the first time in more than two months-shortly after Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson said he would temporarily leave the project.

Where is the next step?

Considering that the ADA fell to a multi-year low of $0.14 in June and has since rebounded more than 40%, while the rest of the market is mostly dormant, a logical question is: Where will the asset go? Prominent market commentator Alex Marell pointed to the latest breakthrough for the token and said its structure is currently one of the strongest in months. He believes that if buyers successfully hold on to their recent breakthrough, the rebound may continue to the next major resistance area.

Another trader, Crypto Tony, also turned his attention to the popular altcoin after the ADA surge, pointing to the $0.21 -0.22 region tested last night as an important resistance level. But he also pointed out that if significant resistance is encountered in this range, the ADA could fall back to $0.18.

$ADA/$USD-Update

One point to watch for ADA: Rejection from resistance zone. I expect we'll go back to $0.18 first.

Recently, there have been reports that ADA's price on Bitcoin has exceeded the 20-week moving average for the first time since October 2025. Historically, similar technology forms have often been followed by increases of as much as 200%.

Another analyst pointed out that US$0.2305 may be the most important resistance level ahead, and believed that a decisive breakthrough of this level could eventually end the ADA's long-term downward trend and push it towards US$0.30.

What are the reasons behind the surge?

Cardano's whales have recently set off a wave of hoarding, buying more than 240 million tokens within five days of prices starting to rebound. This suggests that large market participants are taking advantage of depressed prices while retail investors are mostly on the sidelines.

Network development may also be related to broader recovery catalysts. Cardano entered the Dijkstra development era after the van Rossem upgrade, and this year's targeted improvements to the main network include nested transactions and linear Leios. The project also partnered with Injective to establish its first connection through IBC on the test network, which may allow the transfer of respective native tokens between the two ecosystems in the future.

Cardano's total lock-in value (TVL) has recently increased by 11% weekly, which also suggests that DeFi activity has improved in parallel with other internal operations.
