Igra Network is expanding Kaspa native DeFi

Igra Labs officially launched Tangem

Igra Labs has completed integration with Tangem, bringing Kaspa's native decentralized finance (DeFi) to more than one million hardware wallet users. The move allows $IGRA holders to access the Igra application ecosystem while keeping private keys securely in cold storage, eliminating the trade-off that historically forced DeFi users to switch to less secure software wallets.

This integration is based on the WalletConnect protocol and is supported through Tangem application version 6.1.3. WalletConnect is an open protocol used to facilitate interaction between decentralized applications (dApps) and cryptographic wallets, ensuring that private keys are securely stored in the hardware wallet itself. For Tangem users, this means approving transactions with just a touch of NFC without exposing the key to connected devices.

What it means for Kaspa DeFi

The Igra Network is an EVM-compatible execution layer built on top of the Kaspa Proof of Work BlockDAG. Igra Labs has opened public access to the Igra Network, a decentralized, EVM-compatible execution layer built on Kaspa's PoW BlockDAG. With Kaspa's 10 blocks per second BlockDAG architecture and parallel transaction sequencing, the network can achieve more than 3000 transactions per second, with latency of less than one second.

Connecting to Tangem via WalletConnect,$IGRA holders can now interact directly with decentralized applications on the Igra Network without first transferring assets to a hot wallet. Tangem's collaboration with WalletConnect aims to provide an intuitive and secure Web3 experience that simplifies interactions between wallets and dApps, while ensuring user security in DeFi and blockchain applications.

Tangem's advanced technology is certified by Common Criteria EAL6+, and the chip has the same level of protection as a passport. With the integration of Igra and Tangem, this security benchmark has been extended to Kaspa native DeFi for the first time, marking the transformation of cold storage-protected DeFi access from a technical workaround to a practical reality.
