Is Cardano the biggest winner in the recent cryptocurrency boom?

Cardano has become the leader in the recent rebound in the crypto market. Its increase is not only reflected in price, but also in network usage.

In the past few days, the price of $ADA has risen sharply, driving the entire digital asset market up with a wave of bullish sentiment.

On-chain activity nearly doubled in 48 hours

However, what is more convincing is the changes that have taken place in the blockchain itself. According to ChainSpect data, Cardano's daily trading volume almost doubled in 48 hours, with trading volume increasing by 48% one day and another 33% the next day. Finally, the number of transactions processed in a single day exceeded 32,000. This round of growth also broke the chain's daily trading volume record.

The surge in usage is consistent with the general trend of continued growth in online activity in 2026. Since its launch in 2017, the cumulative transaction volume of Cardano's main network has exceeded 122.7 million, and it has maintained a 100% uptime for more than eight years. Transaction fees on Cardano continue to remain relatively stable and reasonable, which helps retain users and drives wider adoption.

Fundamentals add support to rebound

This price rise did not come out of thin air. According to ChainSpect data, Cardano also achieved a record degree of decentralization, with a Nakamoto coefficient of 16. The higher the Nakamoto coefficient, the more independent nodes need to be attacked to destroy the network, which is a sign of improved network resilience.

Cardano's Dijkstra era begins on August 6, 2026, with a focus on scalability through upgrades such as Ouroboros Leios, which are scheduled for later this year. In early August, whales increased their holdings of more than 240 million ADAs, driving prices soaring 22%, while Cardano's total DeFi lockings increased 11% over the same period to approximately US$70 million.

Whether current momentum can be sustained will depend on the broader market environment and continued user adoption. But for now, prices and underlying network indicators are pointing in the same direction.
