Tom Lee: The Ethereum funding round has started and the US$10,000 target has been formed
Fundstrat co-founder Tom Lee believes that funds have begun to flow into Ethereum, which strengthens his prediction that Ethereum may reach US$10,000. Li said that over the past decade, the cryptocurrency field has gradually formed conditions to support this market transformation. He expects Ethereum to benefit as institutions deepen their participation in stablecoins, decentralized finance and tokenized assets.
Tom Lee believes Ethereum is expected to reach US$10,000 in one to two years as it becomes an important settlement layer for digital financial products and institutional blockchain activities. In addition, Li believes that Ethereum is seriously undervalued relative to Bitcoin because its relative valuation was higher during periods of high network usage. Therefore, restoring this relationship could provide huge upside for Ethereum without weakening Bitcoin's overall market position. Li also believes that digital asset treasury companies can perform better on corporate balance sheets than cryptocurrencies themselves.
BitMine strategy strengthens Li's Ethereum prediction
Li serves as chairman of BitMine, which launched the Ethereum treasury strategy through a US$250 million private placement in July 2025. As of July 14, BitMine had accumulated more than 163,000 ETH units, linking Li's prediction to a corporate strategy of holding large amounts of Ethereum.
Li's $10,000 forecast is more conservative than his estimate in June, when he said Ethereum could reach $250,000 with widespread adoption by institutions. The forecast assumes that Ethereum will gain importance in multiple areas, while institutions can leverage the network for payments and regulated settlements.
Ethereum's 32% rebound reinforced Li's view, while the rise in South Korea's trading volume reflected expanded participation during the cryptocurrency market rebound. However, Ethereum needs to maintain network activity and institutional demand to provide stronger support for Li's $10,000 prospects. Competition, regulatory changes and weakening speculative demand may also affect Ethereum's valuation. Li's forecast views the funding rotation as a structural shift driven by Ethereum's expanding role in digital finance.
