Forget the bottom of Bitcoin: Analysts say these altcoins may be the first to launch

Crypto Traders: Don't wait for Bitcoin to hit bottom, these altcoins may be the first to launch.

Crypto trader Axel Bitblaze puts forward a new market perspective based on a video from analyst Taiki Maeda. He believes that while most investors are still waiting for the bottom of the fourth quarter, assets such as Hyperliquid (HYPE), Lighter (LIT) and Zcash (ZEC) are already trading like winners in the next cycle.

He pointed out that markets often start to move before anyone confirms that a bottom has formed, so a better window may be in the middle and late third quarter rather than waiting until everything seems safe.

Reasons to be optimistic about HYPE, LIT and ZEC

On July 15, Maeda shared a video on his X account, saying that the crypto market is bottoming out and said he would go long HYPE, LIT and ZEC. Bitblaze further elaborated on his views in a July 16 post, noting that Hyperliquid has bought back about 3.4% of the circulating HYPE supply this year, allowing the token to perform well even when mainstream currencies such as Bitcoin are struggling.

"If Bitcoin's volatility causes $HYPE to fall again, but does not change its fundamentals... that could be a bargain hunting opportunity," the analyst wrote.

Lighter's LIT tokens are positioned as a riskier option. Bitblaze attributed its reporting collaboration with Robinhood to the fact that the decentralized perpetual contract exchange has gained a broader user base. He also pointed out that repo had removed more than 6% of LIT's circulating supply, helping it hit a record high on the penultimate day of 2025, when many altcoins were falling.

At the same time, ZEC needs to be most cautious. In Maeda's market update video, he said he sold the privacy coin after discovering a vulnerability in his Orchard privacy pool that could allow malicious actors to mince unlimited amounts of fake ZECs, causing prices to plummet by 60%. However, after reassessing the project's prospects, he bought back most of the ZEC. The Ironwood upgrade, which will be launched on July 28, is expected to introduce stronger quantum resistance and reduce the risk of hidden vulnerabilities through formal verification.

According to Bitblaze, this upgrade may drive the asset's price higher. Looking back last week, Zcash founder Zooko Wilcox said they were close to making a mathematical proof that Ironwood's new privacy pool did not contain undetectable counterfeiting vulnerabilities, which once caused the ZEC price to exceed $500. The token is currently trading at about 0.8% of Bitcoin's market value, and according to Maeda's model, if this ratio rebounds back to 1%, ZEC could be priced between $650 and $700.

Traders urged not to wait for Bitcoin

Bitblaze said that the crypto market has been in a bear market since mid-2025 when Ethereum approached the mania brought about by $5000. Now, people are waiting for the bottom, and according to his forecast, this bottom is set for the fourth quarter of 2026.

But he believes the market tends to "jump everyone's expectations," which means traders would better start laying out between August and September,"before the recovery becomes apparent."

"Don't wait for Bitcoin and the entire market to look perfect," the analyst advised. "The next winner usually starts parting ways with the market before everyone accepts that a bottom is forming."
