Robinhood Chain's weekly trading volume reaches US$5.25 billion

Robinhood's Ethereum Layer 2 network has only been launched for 16 days and has begun to transfer funds on a large scale.

According to DefiLlama data, Robinhood Chain's weekly DEX transaction volume reached US$5.254 billion, a month-on-month increase of 490%. For a chain that will only open its public main network on July 1, 2026, this number cannot be ignored.

Uniswap accounts for almost all transaction volume

This transaction volume data comes largely from a single agreement. In the last 24 hours, transactions on the chain totaled $594.74 million, of which Uniswap contributed $588.93 million, compared to the fact that other agreements on Robinhood Chain are almost negligible. This concentration reflects Uniswap's status as the network's designated public liquidity layer-a role it was co-assigned with infrastructure partners such as Chainlink, BitGo and Morpho when it was launched.

Robinhood Chain is built based on Arbitrum's Orbit technology and settled to Ethereum in an optimistic summary manner. The chain, which was unveiled at Robinhood's "The World Is Flat" event in London, has been positioned from the beginning as an infrastructure to tokenize real-world assets, offering stock tokens available in more than 120 countries, and a DeFi lending product called Robinhood Earn, which deposits user deposits into a Moro-driven USDG vault with an expected annualized yield of 7%.

Capital flows are strong, but total locked positions lag behind trading volume

There is a huge gap between trading activities and lock-up capital on the chain. DeFi's total locked positions were US$220 million, while weekly trading volume was US$5.25 billion, and cross-chain bridging funds were US$816 million. The chain's single-day revenue is US$175,178, a significant figure for a network that has just been launched a few weeks ago.

The chain claims to focus on tokenizing real-world assets, but this part of actual activity accounts for a small proportion. Early trading volume was mainly driven by speculation, including a surge in memein trading rather than the tokenized stock use case as Robinhood originally promoted. Still, raw throughput is enough to push Robinhood Chain to the top ranks of the global DEX network. According to DefiLlama data, on July 12, the chain ranked second among all networks in 24-hour DEX transaction volume, behind Solana.

When launched, the chain has inherent distribution advantages that most new L2 networks do not have. Robinhood runs a broker that serves nearly 28 million customers, giving the network a ready-made user base from day one. Whether this early transaction volume translates into continued DeFi activity and true RWA adoption will be a focus for attention in the coming weeks.
