Wang Chun, co-founder of F2Pool, transferred US$170 million worth of ETH and WBTC back to Binance
Wang Chun, co-founder of the well-known Bitcoin mining pool F2Pool, attracted the attention of analysts on the chain due to his large-scale asset transfer this summer. After transferring cryptocurrency positions into private storage for two consecutive months, Wang Chun changed his strategy and transferred a large amount of ETH and WBTC back to Binance.
Major wallet changes cause market concerns
In May and June this year, Wang Chun adopted a defensive investment strategy, withdrawing funds from centralized exchanges and depositing them into unmanaged wallets and DeFi protocols such as Spark. During those two-month periods, his transfers involved approximately 91,945 ETH (valued at approximately US$160 million at the time) and 973 WBTC (valued at approximately US$61 million). These transfers imply bullish expectations-withdrawals from exchanges by long-term holders are often seen as expecting price increases and intending to hold, not sell.
Market participants interpreted Wang Chun's withdrawal as a signal of confidence in rising valuations. Tokens stored in private wallets are often less likely to be sold immediately, thus diverting supply pressure from centralized trading platforms.
However, Wang Chun's operations suddenly turned in July, when he began to resend large amounts of funds to the Binanhot wallet. This trend began on July 2, when 16,800 ETH and 60 WBTC were transferred that day, and another 9,800 ETH were transferred the next day. Arkham's on-chain monitoring showed that there was another inflow on July 27, when 3,345 ETH pieces worth US$6.5 million were sent to Binance.
Possible market impact of large-scale transfers
These large deposits with Binance are widely interpreted as an important market participant preparing to take profits or engage in large-scale transactions. When large households move assets back from private deposits to exchanges, it usually increases the likelihood of a sell-off, which could put downward pressure on asset prices in the short term.
The adjustments of such institutional figures are often of great concern because their actions can serve as early indicators of changes in market sentiment. Some traders monitor the on-chain flow of addresses known to belong to well-known people such as Wang Chun to predict possible fluctuations.
When contemporary coins are stored in personal wallets, they represent a "frozen" supply; but once they enter Binance, they become liquid and tradable, which can affect price dynamics, especially when the amount exceeds US$100 million.
Wang Chun's change of strategy-from long-term DeFi holdings to immediate investment in centralized exchange liquidity-indicates a shift in market expectations or investment goals. As trading volume and price movements unfold in the coming days, the subsequent impact will become clearer.
Investors and market observers often turn to monitoring tools to keep up with these changing strategies. By integrating relevant market details into a single platform, users can access prices, advanced charts and multi-currency portfolio management in real time without creating an account. Its functions include smart price reminders, currency-specific news filtering, early detection of newly listed altcoins, and latest macroeconomic indicators such as Federal Reserve interest rates, providing users with an integrated way to manage positions and capture opportunities during market changes.
It remains to be seen whether the recent inflow of funds into Binance is a direct sell-off by Wang Chun or just a tactical adjustment before adapting to the new market environment.
The exact reasons behind Wang Chun's asset transfer will become clearer after market participants monitor the resulting trading volume and price movements in the coming days.
Currently, observers continue to watch his address for clues about next steps that may affect the broader crypto market.
