Bitmine increased its holdings of 10,000 ETH and pledged 4.9 million Ethereum, with a total position of US$11.8 billion.

Bitmine Immersion Technologies announced on Monday that it had purchased nearly 10,000 Ethereum (ETH) units last week, bringing its total Ethereum position to 5.79 million. This figure accounts for approximately 4.8% of Ethereum's total supply.

Pledge Advantage and Yield

Bitmine said that of its Ethereum reserves, 4.9 million ETH (approximately 85% of the portfolio) have been pledged through internal verification node operations. The company expects that deploying all Ethereum to verification node infrastructure and partner nodes will generate approximately US$299 million in pledge rewards per year.

As of July 26, Bitmine reported a total balance of $11.8 billion in cryptocurrencies, cash and marketable securities.

Bitmine Chairman Tom Lee pointed out that Ethereum continues to perform well and the ETH/BTC ratio has climbed to a three-month high, marking "Ethereum's growing momentum in the current market cycle."

Market comparison: ETH and BTC performance

According to CoinGecko data, in the past seven days, Ethereum has risen 2.4%, while Bitcoin has fallen about 0.7%.

Asset Type| 7-day gains and losses
Ethereum (ETH)|+2.4%
Bitcoin (BTC)|-0.7%

Bitmine's recent buying actions and its focus on verification node operations have made it the world's listed company with the largest Ethereum vault, second only to Strategy, in terms of total value of digital assets.

Micro Dictionary: Verification node operations (also known as pledge services) refer to organizations or individuals operating nodes and participating in the consensus mechanism of proof of stake in blockchain networks. Authentication nodes help maintain network security and receive rewards by contributing computing power and verifying transactions.

Enterprise Strategy: Bitmine and Strategy

Bitmine's strategy contrasts sharply with Strategy, the world's leading holder of corporate digital assets. The latter has adjusted its accumulation strategy, recently suspending Bitcoin acquisitions and choosing instead to enhance liquidity and return capital to shareholders.

On Monday, Strategy disclosed that it had raised $544.5 million through stock sales, repurchased $25 million worth of STRC preferred stock, and expanded its U.S. dollar reserves to $3.75 billion. The company still holds 843,775 bitcoins and continues to rank among the world's largest corporate bitcoin holders.

Bitmine's aggressive acquisition of Ethereum and Strategy's current focus on liquidity highlight the different views of large listed companies on crypto asset management.
