XRP Wietse Wind, founder and developer of Xaman Wallet, issued a major warning to the XRP community. An authenticated X account posted content promoting "XMN", a token claimed to be related to the Xaman wallet. The post uses Xaman's official brand logo and claims that token claims will be launched on the XRPL network and that the allocation checker is online. Wind immediately flagged it as a scam and clarified: "There are no Xaman tokens. There will be no Xaman tokens in the future."
Account hijacking and reputation borrowing
What is particularly noteworthy in this case is the source of fraudulent posts. The account used belongs to Arlington ISD (an authenticated X account), indicating that the fraudster had unauthorized access to the account. Authentication badges add another layer of credibility to posts. Scammers often use trusted accounts to push fake token launches and airdrops to unsuspecting audiences. Wind has issued such warnings many times. He had previously named impostors on X, and the Xaman team was also actively reporting these accounts and websites. However, new impostors are still emerging.

Universal patterns in the XRP community
This is not the first time a fake Xaman token has appeared. XMN posts are just one example of the increasingly rampant scam model in 2026. In South Korea, authorities have arrested a gang that stole 3.4 million XRPs worth approximately 12.3 billion won (US$8.55 million) from 71 victims. The scam leverages people's trust in the ecosystem to commit fraud on a large scale. Earlier this year, Ripple Chief Technology Officer emeritus David Schwartz issued a separate warning about collaborative fraud activities targeting XRPL users. The campaign uses fake airdrops, giveaways and impersonations to steal assets from market participants. Different methods, but the same goal. Scammers create a sense of urgency, borrow legitimate brands, and induce users to take action without thinking about it.
How to stay safe
Wind's advice remains as always. Don't sign any deal you don't trust. Don't interact with accounts that promise free tokens or airdrops. Xaman has no desktop wallet, no browser extensions, and no tokens. Any post claiming to the contrary is a scam. Please verify all information through official channels before taking any action. Maintaining vigilance is the most powerful defense tool for current XRP holders.
