OKX removal announcement: Why is the deadline for MAJOR and J withdrawal set on August 26?

Users holding MAJOR or J in an OKX account must take action before 08:00 UTC on August 26, 2026.

After that, the exchange will suspend the withdrawal function of these two crypto assets. This is clearly stated in OKX's removal announcement issued on May 26, 2026, which is the only binding source of information on this date. Trading has been impossible on OKX since early June; now, the last exit channel is about to close.

Affected are two small-cap tokens from the airdrop world-these tokens are often picked up by investors and then ignored. This is why deadlines become dangerous. Balances that no one cares about will inevitably miss the three-month deadline set.

OKX is removed from MAJOR and J: What will happen at 08:00 UTC on August 26, 2026?

Removal refers to the permanent removal of a trading pair from the trading platform's trading list; the crypto asset will disappear from the exchange's order book, but it will still exist on the blockchain.

OKX announced the timetable for the removal of MAJOR and J on May 26, 2026, and has since moved forward in stages. According to the announcement, the specific process is as follows:

May 26, 2026, 08:00 UTC: Suspend the recharge of affected crypto assets.

June 2, 2026, 08:00 to 10:00 UTC: MAJOR/USD trading pair is removed.

June 5, 2026, 08:00 to 10:00 UTC: MAJOR/USDT and J/USDT trading pairs are removed.

August 26, 2026 08:00 UTC: Suspension of withdrawals of affected crypto assets.

The last point in time is the only node that requires user action. The previous three steps have been completed and cannot be compensated. Users who want to keep their balance need to withdraw it to their own address. Users who want to completely clear their balances must first withdraw cash and then sell them on other platforms, because OKX no longer provides relevant trading pairs.

August 26 OKX withdrawal deadline: What local time is applicable?

08:00 UTC corresponds to 10:00 CEST in German Daylight Saving Time. Therefore, the deadline is Wednesday morning, not evening. This is the most common calculation error in exchange deadlines and can cause users to lose an entire business day of buffer time.

Processing time is also considered. Cash withdrawal is not a one-click completion, but requires a series of processes such as approval, double verification and network confirmation. If the destination address is new, a security review is also required, and the entire process can take hours. Users starting Wednesday morning will have no cushion.

Why cannot deadlines be negotiated?

Exchanges fix such dates in announcements and usually do not change them. OKX's notice did not include any extension notices. Please be prepared not to have a second chance.

Twelve weeks no trading period: Why is there such a long time between the last trading day and the withdrawal deadline?

From the last trading day on June 5 to the withdrawal deadline on August 26, there are 82 days, nearly twelve weeks. During this period, the balance remains in the account, but transactions cannot be made. For exchanges, this is a grace period; for investors, it is a period when positions may be forgotten.

There are reasonable reasons for long intervals. Trading pairs can be closed at any time, but withdrawal infrastructure cannot: nodes, network connections and custody services must continue to operate as long as one customer is allowed to withdraw cash. The exchange will maintain the service for a limited time and then terminate it.

Actually this means that the period of calm has ended. Starting from August 26, the balance status will change for the first time since June, and the direction will be irreversible.

Channel remains open: OKX allows withdrawals of MAJOR and J before 08:00 UTC on August 26, and will no longer be supported thereafter.

Non-tradable assets on OKX: What will happen to the remaining balance after being removed?

OKX clearly stated in the announcement how to handle the remaining balance. Once the removal is completed, the balance will be collected into the fund account. At OKX, a fund account is an area where inactive trading positions are held. These balances will then be displayed in the "Non-Tradable Assets" section under "Assets".

This state is trickier than it sounds. Positions are still visible in the account, giving people the illusion that there are still assets to collect. But it cannot be traded or withdrawn after August 26. In the end, it will just lie in the overview as a number and cannot be manipulated.

In this case, the only possibility is for the exchange to decide on a case-by-case basis. This announcement will not create any rights to subsequent compensation. Users who want to avoid this must take action by Wednesday morning.

Current status of MAJOR and J: Which trading platforms are still listing these tokens?

Withdrawal only makes sense if the target crypto asset still has a market elsewhere. Cryptoticker.io conducted its own analysis on August 22, 2026. Method: Call the public CoinGecko programming interface at 03:52 UTC on August 22, 2026 to query the two tokens, the trading pairs and trading platform names in the evaluation report. A total of two types of crypto assets were examined.

For MAJOR, the query results showed that there were 11 trading pairs on 11 trading platforms: Biconomy.com, Bitunix, Bybit, CoinEx, CoinW, Gate, KuCoin, LBank, MEXC, Mudrex and Orbit. The price is $0.0424, and reported trading volume in the past 24 hours is $808,305. CoinGecko classified MAJOR as a game and Telegram application category; the token originated from a Telegram game and was widely distributed to retail investors through airdrops.

For J, the token for the Jambo project, the same query results showed that there were 5 trading pairs on 5 trading platforms: BVOX, Koinpark, KuCoin, and the decentralized exchanges Orca and Raydium. The price is US$0.0012756 and the reported total market value is US$269,159. The token is based on the Solana network.

What this survey did not reveal: whether the listed platforms accepted retail customers from Germany, whether they were licensed in the EU, what the actual depth of the order book was, and whether the reported transaction volume was reliable. You need to verify it yourself based on specific circumstances. If European licenses are important to you when selecting alternate exchanges, start with a comparison of regulated cryptocurrency exchanges.

J Trading volume is only US$2,655: Why withdrawal and sale are two different things?

Trading volume refers to the total value of crypto-asset transactions over a period of time and is the most useful indicator to determine whether a position can be sold.

For J, over the 24 hours of measurement, the figure was US$2,655. This is equivalent to the turnover of a second-hand small car, spread across five trading platforms and over a full day. In such a thin market, a few hundred dollars in open positions can significantly affect prices.

MAJOR looks much better, with 24-hour trading volume of US$808,305, but still well below its peak. CoinGecko set its all-time high at $1.90 on November 28, 2024; in contrast, the token's trading price fell approximately 97.8% as of August 22, 2026. For J, the historical high is US$0.9105 on January 22, 2025, a decline of approximately 99.9%.

This leads to a disturbing conclusion. The August 26 deadline determines whether you can still transfer tokens. Whether tokens can bring benefits depends on the subsequent market, and for both, the market prospects appear very bleak.

Prepare for OKX withdrawal: Which wallet address and network do you need?

Failure to withdraw cash is rarely due to willingness, but more due to lack of preparation. Before starting the withdrawal process, three things need to be confirmed.

Network: OKX specifies which networks cryptoassets can be transferred out through in the withdrawal dialog box. The designation is binding; no price portal's information about the underlying blockchain can override it. If the selected network does not match the target address, funds will be lost, whether before the deadline or not.

Target Address: The receiving address must match the selected network and be located in the wallet you control. Please set it early: Some exchanges will set a waiting period for new withdrawal addresses, and this waiting period may conflict with the deadline.

Amount: Each crypto asset has a minimum withdrawal amount. If your balance is less than this amount, the system will refuse the transfer and the deadline is still counting down. Before relying on the withdrawal process, please check the number in the withdrawal dialog box.

Visible but inaccessible: This is what OKX looks like when it lists the balance as a "non-tradable asset" after it is removed.

Calculating small balances: When is it no longer worth withdrawing MAJOR or J?

Convert the balance before taking action. Based on the price measured on August 22, 2026, 1,000 MAJOR is approximately US$42, and 1,000 J is approximately US$1.28. For J, almost any withdrawal fee will exceed the value of the position.

This is not to suggest that you leave the balance alone. Rather, it reminds you to take the initiative to make decisions, not procrastinate. Users who calculated that the transfer was not worth it had already made a decision. Users who just let the deadline slip away just forget it.

There is a lack of middle path here: because OKX no longer provides trading pairs, the remaining balance cannot be exchanged for a larger currency on the platform. The small balance redemption function provided by some exchanges requires active transaction pairs.

English Only Announcement: What does the language version mean to OKX German customers?

Removal notices are located in the English version of the OKX European Help Area. During the inspection on August 22, 2026, the English addresses for both EU and US versions returned status 200 and were therefore accessible. Five common German addresses in the same help area returned 404, including the German help area itself and the overview page for down-posted notifications.

This measurement only describes the address being called. We cannot verify whether OKX notified its German-speaking customers via email, application notification or other means, and this finding does not make a contrary conclusion.

In practice, one consequence is obvious. Users who only track deadlines through the German help page often see such dates on international trading platforms before it is too late. For an overview of current deadlines for major providers, see our Overview of Cryptocurrency Exchange Deadlines.

OKX's three-month rule: Why is the deadline for GODS, PRCL and DUCK November 7?

The cases of MAJOR and J are not isolated. On August 7, 2026, OKX announced its second removal, this time involving GODS, PRCL and DUCK. The recharge was suspended at 08:00 UTC on the same day, and the transaction pairs were removed from the shelves on August 14 and August 17 respectively, and the time was from 08:00 to 10:00 UTC. According to the announcement, the withdrawal deadline is 08:00 UTC on November 7, 2026.

The two announcements follow the same pattern. There are exactly three months between the announcement date and the end of the withdrawal: MAJOR and J are from May 26 to August 26, and GODS, PRCL and DUCK are from August 7 to November 7. Two cases do not yet constitute a rule, but provide a useful rule of thumb. After seeing the exchange's removal announcement, please set a date three months later on the calendar instead of the last trading day.

For GODS, PRCL and DUCK, it specifically means that the transaction ended in mid-August and the withdrawal window lasted until early November. Users holding any of these balances have time, but should write down the date now.

Check the OKX withdrawal deadline: Action Points

Check your account now. Open OKX's fund account and check whether there is MAJOR or J. Because they are airdropped tokens, the balance can be small and unnoticed for months. If you are considering changing trading platforms, cryptocurrency exchanges will help you make your choice.

Have target addresses and networks ready by Tuesday night. Set the receiving address in your own wallet and check which network is provided in the OKX withdrawal dialog box. See Wallet Comparison for suitable applications. There may be a waiting period for a new address, and you don't have much time left.

Calculate and make a decision. Convert the balance at the current price and compare it with the withdrawal fee. If you decide not to transfer money, as long as it is intentional, it will be fine. Later, if you want to find exchanges with European licenses, you can find them in the Regulated Cryptocurrency Exchange Comparison.

The binding dates are in two OKX notices: the May 26, 2026 announcement regarding MAJOR and J and the August 7, 2026 announcement regarding GODS, PRCL and DUCK.
