Eigenlayer's online data hit a multi-month high, but prices remained unchanged.
On Wednesday, Eigenlayer's online footprint hit its busiest day in months-60 giant whale transactions were recorded-but EIGEN's prices were barely affected. According to a data update from Sanitation, the token price remains at $0.23, even though the number of new wallets created jumped to 219, the highest level since June 10. These data suggest that the current trend is more likely to be an early deployment than a sudden influx of retail investors.
Giant whale movements and new wallets surfaced
These 60 large transactions hit a four-month high, comparable to the level on March 16. At the same time, 219 new EIGEN wallets emerged, a surge not seen since early June. When prices remain stable, sudden bursts of activity on the chain often send different signals than those after a rise. This could mean that well-funded entities are quietly sifting in or preparing for a future event that the broader market is not yet aware of.
Re-pledge infrastructure and structural catalysts
So, what is attracting attention now? Eigenlayer's re-pledge model allows Ethereum verifiers to also secure AVS (Proactive Authentication Service), making it the foundation layer for projects that are unwilling to build their own security systems. Recent rumors surrounding EigenCloud, a platform that streamlines verifiable offline services, as well as the evolving fee-oriented token economics and AVS reward allocation mechanism, may be attracting interest at the institutional and protocol levels. At the same time, upcoming token unlocks are also worthy of attention; early placers tend to act in advance before supply events change liquidity dynamics.
Developer activity in Ethereum remains strong, providing strong support for Eigenlayer. Ethereum continues to lead the way in developer activity, and Eigenlayer is benefiting from this active code base. When the underlying network is busy, re-pledging infrastructure can often attract more experimental attempts.
Why prices have stagnated and possible changes
Despite the lively activity on the chain, EIGEN's prices have not fluctuated. This stagnation may seem like a failure signal, but it is also common in the fundraising phase before the launch of news-driven markets. However, the risk is that the surge in wallet creation and the expansion in whale trading volume may be preparing for both buying and selling pressure-especially as the token unlocking program is advancing. Without specific announcements about AVS adoption or protocol upgrades, the current activity may be just a flash in the pan.
What traders need to focus on next is: wallet growth that lasts for many days, not just one day; trading volume drives prices above $0.25; or clear news from Eigenlayer about EigenCloud's cooperation or pledge reward adjustments. Currently, the market is focusing on on-chain data rather than price tags.
