Note:
Shiba Inu coins recorded the largest weekly destruction in a year, and 2.96 billion SHIBs were withdrawn from circulation due to increased Internet activities.
Large destruction deals from Shibburn and Woofswap have pushed up monthly destruction levels, while whale activity has climbed significantly across the ecosystem.
The number of addresses held is close to 1.68 million, and Sanitation points out that significant whale transfers have intensified market discussions about the SHIB mechanism.
In the past seven days, 2.96 billion Shiba Inu coins have been permanently withdrawn from circulation, recording the largest weekly token destruction in a year.
According to Shibburn, this increase has coincided with increased Internet activity, increased whale engagement and a steady increase in held addresses.
The latest weekly totals exceed the destruction data recorded in recent weeks. In addition, it was the highest weekly destruction volume since the same period last year.
This surge has rekindled interest in activities along the SHIB chain, as multiple key network indicators have also been strengthened during the reporting period.
Destruction takes tokens out of circulation by sending them to inaccessible addresses. As a result, fewer tokens are available, but price performance still depends on overall market demand and investor participation.
Large destruction transactions push up weekly totals
A large portion of weekly destruction occurred between July 26 and 27, and Shibburn reported in a post on X that a transaction transferred 757,803,141 SHIBs into a dead wallet, making it one of the largest destruction incidents recorded this week.
In addition, according to Woofswap's update on the X platform, the project destroyed approximately US$15,000 worth of SHIBs on Ethereum, and destroyed another US$4,500 worth of SHIBs through Robinhood-related activities, contributing significantly to the total weekly destruction.
In addition to increased destruction activity, SHIB rebounded strongly over the weekend and later gave up some of its gains, while price fluctuations encouraged higher participation within the ecosystem and boosted several important on-chain indicators.
Social dominance climbed to 0.084%, the highest level since April 2, while the Internet recorded 52 whale transactions in a single day, marking the strongest daily whale activity since March 31, reflecting increased participation by major players during the rebound.
Holder growth reflects increased network participation
High destruction activity also pushed up monthly data. According to Shibburn data, approximately 3.23 billion SHIBs have been withdrawn from circulation in the past 30 days. This figure highlights continued growth compared to previous monthly totals.
At the same time, the Shiba Inu Coin Network continues to add new participants. Chain data shows that the number of held addresses has reached 1,678,501. Nearly 80,000 addresses were added in July, reflecting the expansion of adoption despite recent market fluctuations.
According to Sanitation, a whale with the chain identification 0x8382... 7b03 attracted widespread attention after making several large SHIB transfers and publicly sharing wallets. The analytics platform pointed out that the transactions sparked discussions around market mechanisms rather than retail investors driven speculation.
As of writing, SHIB was trading at US$0.00004632, down 3.25% from the previous 24 hours. However, the token still rose 11.18% in the past seven days, better than its short-term daily decline.
Weekly destruction highlights expansion of ecosystem activities
The latest Shiba Inu coin destruction data reflects increased participation in multiple areas of the network. Higher destruction, growing number of holders, increased whale activity and increased social engagement all occurred during the same reporting period. Together, these indicators highlight the rise in chain activity, as SHIB recorded its largest weekly destruction volume in a year.
