The SHIB team sets new challenges for the community: Who moves first?
The team behind the second-largest memecoin has launched an interesting challenge for its community, aiming to increase the token's global visibility. Some members said they plan to use the initiative as soon as possible, while others pointed to important reasons for avoiding it.
SHIB flies into the sky
Earlier this week, international airline United Arab Emirates partnered with Crypto.com to allow United Arab Emirates residents to book flights using digital payment solutions through the exchange's website and app. Shiba Inu's official X account shared the news and reminded users that SHIB is one of the many tokens supported by the platform. The account also encourages the community to test the initiative.
Many users praised the news, with some claiming to use memin as a payment method in the next few days. Others said they would never use their tokens and reminded the story of programmer Laszlo Hanech, who used Bitcoin to buy pizza in 2010. "I would never pay for anything with my SHIB, and I don't want to be the guy who buys pizza with Bitcoin," CryptoKing said.
In the cryptocurrency world, Hanech's story is regarded as both legendary and very warning. Sixteen years ago, he spent 10,000 bitcoins on two pizzas, proving that cryptocurrency was already available as a means of payment at the time. The bitcoins were worth about $40 at the time, but at current exchange rates, their value exceeded $630 million.
In addition to promoting the idea of using SHIB to purchase air tickets, the team has also begun preparations for its sixth anniversary celebration, which is scheduled to be held on August 1st. The community is already speculating whether the celebration will be accompanied by a major ecosystem update, but so far there is no indication that this will happen.
SHIB Price Outlook
Last weekend, this self-proclaimed "dogcoin killer" token suddenly showed a single-day gain of 35%. Potential catalysts for the rise include a mysterious whale that resumed accumulation after more than half a year of silence and a significant revival of destruction mechanisms.
However, in the next few days, bears stepped in and erased most of the gains. The current trading price of SHIB is around US$0.00004702, but the weekly price is still up 12%. There were 52 whale transactions during the rally, indicating profit-taking by large players, according to Santimony. At the same time, retail investors entered late, giving the whale the necessary liquidity to reduce exposure.
The analysis platform recommends that for memecoins like SHIB, the best strategy is to withdraw when retail investors 'FOMO (fear of missing out) sentiment is high, and wait until the public attitude turns hostile and label the token as a scam. Then return.
