Pump.fun, the Solana ecosystem Memecoin launch platform, was exposed to be fired two months before employees were about to receive multimillion-dollar tokens.
According to media reports, Pump.fun, the Solana based memecoin distribution platform, fired relevant employees two months before employees were about to receive multimillion-dollar PUMP tokens.
At least one Pump.fun employee should have received seven-figure PUMP tokens, according to a report released Friday. Reported that Pump.fun co-founder Noah Tweedale said that the company was "expanding too fast", resulting in layoffs, but did not disclose the specific number.
It is reported that these employees were fired in April this year, and according to an agreement signed in 2025, they were supposed to start receiving company tokens two months later. Documents show that the agreement stipulates that Pump.fun will unlock one-quarter of the allocated tokens to employees one year later (June 2026).
Pump.fun has previously been involved in litigation alleging operating a "cheating" mechanism to harm investors and involving maximum extractable value (MEV) operational issues.
As of press time, the PUMP token price was US$0.002113, up 7.5% in the past 24 hours.
