Shiba Inu, the dog-themed cryptocurrency, celebrates its sixth anniversary, with more than 1.6 million holders.
Shiba Inu is a dog-themed cryptocurrency launched by anonymous developer Ryoshi on August 1, 2020. It has now celebrated its sixth anniversary. The token was originally considered a meme coin, but has now established a foothold in the digital asset market and has grown into one of the most recognizable projects in the field.
Community celebrates major milestone
The Shiba Inu community is celebrating the token's six years of growth and achievements. Congratulations messages poured in from key community members and well-known cryptocurrency exchanges. Among them, LBank announced the establishment of a prize pool of US$66,666, offering SHIB, BTC, ETH, iPhone 17 Pro and futures bonuses as part of the celebration.
Global cryptocurrency exchange HTX publicly congratulates Shiba Inu. The company emphasized that the project started with meme coins and has grown into a global movement driven by the principles of community participation, shared culture and decentralization.
Long-term supporters also joined in to congratulate. Kuro, who has been actively involved in the Shiba Inu ecosystem, said: "Happy sixth birthday to SHIB and the journey continues." HTX highlighted Shiba Inu's evolution from meme to the international cryptocurrency phenomenon, attributing its success to its active community and decentralization spirit.
Number of holders hits new high
Shiba Inu has more than 1.6 million chain holders, a milestone reached after 78,977 new addresses were added in July. The surge in the number of holders suggests that the token's appeal continues to grow in the broader cryptocurrency space and its adoption continues to expand.
As of the anniversary day, the total number of holders on the chain was 1,678,192; 78,977 new holders were added in July; the highest historical price (October 2021) was US$0.0000884; the current price was US$0.0000496.
Looking to the future
In addition to the anniversary, members of the Shiba Inu community have set their sights on the future of the project. Mazrael, a senior member of the ecosystem, said major updates are in the works, with special mention of the enhanced development of the Shiba Eternity game and the Shiba Inu Metaverse. Mazrael clarified that the work had been temporarily suspended, but he remained optimistic about its final progress.
Shiba Inu developer Kaal Dhairya commented on the project's resilience and vision. Dhairya emphasized that although the journey was full of difficulties, the commitment to technological progress has not changed, and the coming year will focus on restoration, focus and continuous construction. The Shiba Inu Metaverse is a virtual world project supported by the Shiba Inu team that aims to expand the ecosystem through digital real estate and interactive Web3 experiences. Due to the adjustment of development priorities, the project was suspended, but is expected to resume.
Despite the challenges, Shiba Inu maintains a strong presence among cryptocurrency investors. The token is currently trading at US$0.0000496, up 6.74% in the past 24 hours and 16.66% in the past week. However, SHIB is still nearly 95% lower than the all-time high of US$0.000884 set in October 2021.
The Shiba Inu team emphasized that 2026 will focus on rebuilding, advancing technology, and creating long-term value for the ecosystem.
