Data released by on-chain analysis agency BubbleMaps: 25 wallets control 19% of the supply of CATE memin
Data released by on-chain data analysis platform BubbleMaps shows that 25 wallets hold 19% of the supply of CATE memin. The concentration warning targeted nearly 75,000 traders who purchased the cat-themed token that claimed to be linked to the dog behind the dogcoin.
Who controls most of CATE's supply?
BubbleMaps released this data in a post on the X platform on Wednesday, August 3, saying that 74,863 wallets have purchased CATE tokens. Among them, more than 53,500 wallets are currently profitable, with two investors making profits exceeding US$1 million, 48 investors making profits exceeding US$100,000, and 1618 investors making profits exceeding US$1000. However, BubbleMaps also asked: How long can these investors hold on to it?
The data analysis platform points out that a significant part of the token supply is controlled by a few wallets. "25 wallets control 19% of $CATE," said BubbleMaps. Current data shows that most buyers are currently in a floating profit position, which is quite unusual for memecoin at this stage. While this is a bullish signal for investors, the concentration data is a wake-up call-because the sustainability of paper gains depends entirely on whether these large wallets continue to be held.
Is CATE related to the owner of Kabosu?
The CATE token implies that it is associated with Kabosu, the Shiba Inu whose photo becomes the Doge emoji. However, this connection is controversial. Kabosu's owner, Atsuko Sato, said that the CATE tokens circulating in the market have nothing to do with her. She claimed that someone used an old Instagram photo of her without permission to create a link to the token. According to her, Own The Doge is the only project she has authorized to manage its intellectual property. The project purchased Doge NFT in 2021, launched DOG tokens, held Doge Day events, and released COCORO tokens on the Base chain in 2025. Sato reminds buyers to verify any tokens that claim to have her endorsement before investing funds.
Does BubbleMaps 'latest data on CATE reveal familiar routines?
In July this year, the agency reported that 63% of the 164,538 traders among the top 50 memes on Robinhood Chain lost money, and its flagship token CASHCAT fell about 75% from its July 11 high. At that time, BubbleMaps conducted a distribution check and found that CASHCAT holders were more dispersed, while another token, CASHDOG, was marked as highly concentrated. Earlier, in July, the agency warned that LAB tokens were facing "bad" selling pressure, with early investors approaching an unlock period, and pre-sale participants sitting on hundreds of millions of dollars in lock-in book gains. Cryptopolitan reported that LAB tokens have fallen 72% from their June high, while investigator ZachXBT filed insider manipulation allegations.
The status quo of CATE is exactly the same as the above tokens were before the crash: a minority controls the vast majority of the supply. In the coming days, the reaction of other investors to this data will be crucial to the performance of the token.
