Based on market data, Cash Cat (@cashcat_token) has risen more than 65% in the past 24 hours, and prices have roughly doubled in the past seven days. The market value of the token has climbed to nearly US$72 million, and despite a recent rebound, it is still down about 67% from its all-time high.

Independent social media posts stated that the catalyst was Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev mentioning the token in a live broadcast. However, this claim has not been independently confirmed. But what is well documented is that this background gives the token an unusual direct connection to Robinhood's corporate history.

The origins of CASHCAT can be traced back to the company's own legends: Tenev and co-founder Baiju Bhatt originally named their company CashCat, and later Robinhood. The token was launched as a fan tribute project and is not an official project of Robinhood.

Tenev's public statement and its follow-up

Robinhood Chain launched its public main network on July 1, 2026, which is an Ethereum Layer 2 built based on Arbitrum technology. The chain was originally positioned as an infrastructure to tokenize real-world assets.

In an interview on July 2, Tenev said: "Assets that are not linked to underlying utility are not productive assets" and regards real-world assets as a lasting direction. Six days later, when CASHCAT's listing on its own chain approached nine-digit numbers, Tenev posted: "Although the company is building Robinhood Chain as the most suitable chain for real-world assets, it is also doing well in meme," and paid attention to the token's account.

According to market reports, the project is not officially linked to Robinhood. CASHCAT reached an all-time high of $0.2252 on July 12, 2026, and subsequently experienced a sharp correction of about 77%. The token briefly topped $200 million in mid-July, but has since traded in a lower range.

The latest rally is part of a partial recovery, with the market cap returning to about $72 million, according to data cited in the original report. Traders should note that this type of memecoin carries significant volatility risk and the contract for this token has not yet been verified.
