Robinhood Markets (Nasdaq: HOOD) was likely to have been called "Cash Cat" until the electronic brokerage company decided to call itself Robinhood. This fact was personally confirmed by the company's founder and CEO Vlad Tenev himself in a post on the X platform in April 2021.

Recently, a memin called CASHCAT was launched on July 1, which was inspired by this anecdote during Robinhood's naming process. Memin is a cryptocurrency inspired by online memes, viral trends or popular culture. Unlike Bitcoin (BTC) or Ethereum (ETH), memin usually has no practical application value. Its value depends entirely on Internet popularity, social media discussions, and community enthusiasm.

Please note that CASHCAT has no official connection with Robinhood.

More than a month after its launch, this cat-themed memin was included and opened for trading on the Robinhood platform on August 6. In the 24 hours before CASHCAT landed in Robinhood, its price soared from $0.08994 to $0.1598, a 77.7% increase. However, the all-time high (ATH) for the token appeared on July 11 at $0.2288.

However, the memin quickly retracted its gains, and as of writing, it was trading at US$0.1012. CASHCAT has a market value of US$99.76 million and a 24-hour trading volume of US$87.61 million. The maximum supply of this memin coin is 1 billion pieces.
