Summary
Shiba Inu's destruction rate soared 439.79%, and a total of 10.68 million SHIBs were permanently removed, further strengthening the overall effort to reduce the supply of tokens.
Despite the increased destruction efforts, SHIB still faced selling pressure, with a daily decline of 1.26%, and a weekly decline of 7.38%. Overall market uncertainty persisted.
The market value of USDT has shrunk by nearly US$4 billion in 60 days, indicating that cryptocurrency liquidity has weakened, while macroeconomic uncertainty has affected market sentiment.
The destruction of SHIBs is accelerating, but prices are under pressure
Shiba Inu's destruction rate has soared by 439.79%. In the past 24 hours, a total of 10,684,707 SHIBs have been permanently removed from circulation.
Shibburn data shows that the latest destruction volume far exceeds the previous daily total, further strengthening the overall supply of tokens shrinking.
In the past seven days, approximately 173.37 million SHIBs have been transferred to inaccessible addresses through multiple transactions within the Shiba Inu ecosystem. In addition, more than 3.36 billion SHIBs were destroyed in the past 30 days, increasing the monthly destruction rate by 2,811.38%.
Shibburn records show that 410,843,703,896,181 SHIBs have been destroyed through 21,502 transactions since the destruction trace began. However, stronger destruction activity did not immediately translate into price increases, and SHIB remained under pressure during the daily and weekly cycles. SHIB fell 1.26% in 24 hours, while its seven-day performance showed a deeper decline of about 7.38%.
Deviation between destruction increase and price decline
The divergence between rising destruction volumes and falling prices highlights the impact of multiple market forces on Shiba Inu, not just its supply-reduction mechanism. Token destruction permanently reduces circulation supply, but price performance also depends on investor demand, liquidity conditions, market sentiment, and broader cryptocurrency trends.
Therefore, removing millions of tokens does not automatically create enough buying pressure to reverse the weakness in the SHIB market price. Meanwhile, cryptocurrency traders are assessing uncertainty surrounding the Digital Asset Markets Clarification Act, which remains unresolved in the U.S. Senate.
Lawmakers entered the August recess without voting on the bill, which aims to clarify responsibilities for federal agencies for regulating digital assets. In addition, the bill requires 60 votes in the Senate, which leaves uncertainty as to whether supporters will get enough votes to ensure its final passage.
Macroeconomic conditions remain important because employment and inflation data may affect market expectations for the direction of the Fed's monetary policy. The Federal Reserve kept interest rates between 3.50% and 3.75% in July, despite three officials supporting raising borrowing costs.
USDT liquidity increases market signals
CryptoQuant data shows that Tether's USDT market value has contracted abnormally significantly during the last 60-day measurement period. USDT's 60-day market value change fell nearly $4 billion, close to one of the most negative readings in its history.
Historically, sharp contractions in the USDT have sometimes occurred when cryptocurrency selling pressure is close to exhaustion, but this does not guarantee an immediate recovery in the market. For Shiba Inu, expanded token destruction efforts will help shrink supply, but demand and broader liquidity conditions remain critical to price performance.
