Geopolitical tensions have hit the altcoin market hard, with nearly 40% of currencies falling to historical lows.
Geopolitical tensions have put heavy pressure on the altcoin market, causing many tokens to fall sharply. The market downturn has hit many altcoins even more than the correction in market value of the top major currencies triggered by the 2022 FTX crash.
Nearly 40% of altcoins hit an all-time low
It is reported that about 38.8% of altcoins are currently trading near their all-time low, which means that about four out of ten alternative cryptocurrencies have reached what some analysts call a "bottom" status.
Compiled data shows that Cardano (ADA) is one of the hardest hit assets. ADA has fallen as much as 90% from its historical peak, putting it at the bottom of the performance of mainstream altcoins in this cycle.
In contrast, leading cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum have shown greater resilience. For example, Bitcoin has remained relatively stable despite falling back from its all-time high of $129,000 last summer. Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap, also fell below the $1500 support range during this market correction, but avoided a more serious collapse.
Cardano was trading at key support levels, and trading volume climbed
While Cardano was struggling to maintain its upward momentum, the entire altcoin market was facing continued turbulent trading conditions, and the "copycat season" signal that some technical analysts have been paying attention to has not yet appeared.
ADA's recent attempt to rebound to $0.20 has attracted market attention, but price movements remain weak. Analysts pointed out that Cardano's long-term prospects will depend on whether institutional investors remain confident in the project's technology and roadmap.
Technical observers emphasized the importance of the US$0.16 support level. If Cardano's reversal towards $0.20 is consolidated, bullish sentiment may gradually develop, supported by long-term investor confidence. Last week, research institute Chainspect gave Cardano a higher Satoshi coefficient, indicating that his network has a strong degree of decentralization.
Chainspect's report shows that Cardano's Nakamoto Satoshi coefficient is 0.16, indicating a high level of decentralization, making Cardano one of the most secure large networks against potential centralized threats.
Small Dictionary: Nakamoto Coefficient-a measure of the minimum number of entities needed to break blockchain consensus and thereby control the network. A higher value indicates a higher degree of decentralization.
ADA spot market trading volume has risen to US$210.75 million. Derivatives market activity outstripped the spot market, with futures volume jumping 41% in one day to $367.37 million, according to CoinGlass.
Major tokens fall from historical highs and current support
Cardano (ADA): Down 90% from historical highs, current support level of US$0.16, latest spot trading volume of US$210.75 million.
Bitcoin (BTC): Below recent historical highs, support changes, and spot trading volume is unclear.
Ethereum (ETH): Falling below the US$1500 support level. In the past, the US$1500 support level was unclear.
Market sentiment depends on technical aspects and institutional dynamics
The key price of US$0.20 will become an important indicator of Cardano's short-term sentiment. If it continues to stand firm, it may bring a reversal opportunity for its sharp decline from historical highs.
Chainspect's recent assessment and a rebound in trading activity suggest that market participants are still closely watching Cardano's technical conditions and fundamental improvements as decisive factors in judging its prospects.
The combination of decentralized cybersecurity indicators and significant market volume will affect whether Cardano has a lasting recovery or remains at its current low level.
In other respects, hot trends in the cryptocurrency market include large-scale clearing of memes such as TUT, and changes in XRP liquidity, with traders tracking the next technical barrier.
