Shibarium, Shiba Inu's second-tier expansion solution, is finally showing signs of recovery, which may have sparked hopes among the SHIB army that prices may rise accordingly. However, many other factors suggest that the self-proclaimed "dogcoin killer" project is not yet out of trouble and may experience further short-term declines.
The signals are mixed and the bears still prevail.
Shibarium will be officially launched in the summer of 2023 and aims to promote the development of the Shiba Inu ecosystem by reducing transaction costs, increasing speed and enhancing scalability. At first, the protocol processed millions of transactions a day, but a security breach attack in 2025 brought things to a sharp end. Transaction volume plunged to just a few hundred, indicating a decline in user engagement and sluggish online activity. Data shows that this indicator has finally improved recently. On August 9, the daily transaction volume was close to 4500, the highest level since July 10.
For years, prominent figures in the cryptocurrency field have believed that Shibarium's progress is crucial to the performance of this memecoin. For example, early Bitcoin advocate Jeremie Davinci said in 2025:"As you know, I like Shiba Inu, and I think it will perform relatively well in this cycle, but it may not rise to the heights you expect." I think Shiba Inu is very practical now with Shibarium. Basically, it is a chain that can run various applications. However, no one currently uses it, and there are no apps that allow users to use tokens on Shibarium. If they solve this problem, Shiba Inu will soar."
It is worth noting that Shibarium's recent recovery falls far short of community expectations, which means that prices are more likely to react strongly only when activity returns to previous levels and breaks through these levels. At the same time, other factors suggest that SHIB may fall soon. The number of tokens stored on exchanges has risen to approximately 87.5 trillion yuan, the highest level since the end of June. This suggests that investors are moving from self-managed methods to centralized platforms, increasing immediate selling pressure.
Next is Shiba Inu's destruction rate, which has dropped by 75% in the past week. The ultimate goal of the plan is to reduce the circulation supply of tokens, thereby increasing prices through scarcity. However, teams and communities need to redouble their efforts in this area to achieve meaningful gains.
SHIB Price Outlook and Forecast
As of writing, the memin is trading at approximately US$0.00004654, down 20% from the local high set last month, when a whale resumed increasing its holdings after months of silence. According to X user Kamran Asghar, SHIB is forming a declining wedge pattern within the key demand area of US$0.0000455 - 0.0000465. He believes that breaking through the range around US$0.0000475 will confirm a bullish reversal, with the target looking above US$0.00000520.
