Shibburn warns SHIB holders to pay attention to wallet safety, destroying 3.35 billion pieces in 30

Shibburn issued a wallet safety warning to the Shiba Inu community and destroyed 3.35 billion tokens within 30 days.

Shibburn, a real-time tracking tool known for monitoring the destruction of Shiba Inu coins (SHIB), recently issued the latest warning to the Shiba Inu community. As the security problems of wallets in the cryptocurrency market become increasingly serious, users need to be vigilant.

Cryptocurrency attacks surge, increasing security risks

In the first half of 2026, a series of major events successively impacted the decentralized finance (DeFi) and cryptocurrency wallet fields. The attack on the mainstream DeFi protocol, the intrusion of cryptocurrency exchanges, and the cold storage failure of Coldcard hardware wallet all highlight ongoing security risks. An attack on Coldcard devices led to the theft of Bitcoin, which suggests that while self-hosting is seen as a way to reduce reliance on custodians, it is not completely immune to complex attacks. Risks are often just transferred rather than completely eliminated.

In view of these incidents, Shibburn reminds SHIB holders that they must remain highly vigilant against any unfamiliar or unexpected wallet requests. The tracking tool urges users to carefully review every transaction approval or signature request before authorizing it. "Unexpected wallet requests need to be treated with caution. Please read each permission carefully before signing." Shibburn emphasized that daily interactions can hide complex permission requests, exposing users to unexpected risks posed by decentralized applications.

Continued emphasis on critical safety measures

In a separate message, Shibburn reiterated basic wallet security specifications, warning the SHIB community not to disclose private keys or mnemonics. The organization pointed out that no formal support team would ask for such sensitive information under any circumstances.

While the cryptocurrency community emphasizes wallet and transaction approval security, the traditional asset management field is also undergoing a transformation. Wall Street institutions are gradually turning to Web3 solutions for asset custody. Platforms like 1stepSwap now allow investors to hold shares of leading U.S. companies and gold and silver directly in their cryptocurrency wallets. These platforms effectively eliminate intermediate links by tokenizing real-world assets and quickly aggregating optimal prices.

SHIB Destruction Data and Price Trend

Shibburn continues to report token destruction despite constant security warnings. A total of 2,604,774 SHIBs were destroyed in the past 24 hours, but the daily destruction rate dropped by 8.74% from the previous day. More than 3.93 million SHIBs were destroyed the previous day, resulting in a slight decrease in the recent destruction. Despite this, the destruction of more than 2 million tokens brought the total destroyed last week to 48.52 million SHIBs.

In the past 30 days, a total of 3.35 billion tokens have been destroyed by the Shiba Inu Coin ecosystem. During the same period, the destruction rate shrank significantly, with a decrease of 76.71%. Data from the Shibburn website shows that the cumulative destruction volume has reached 410,843,714,716,903 SHIBs, involving 21,530 transactions.

As of the time of publication, SHIB had risen slightly by 0.21% in 24 hours, but was still down 7.63% on a week-on-week basis. Investors are waiting for further economic signals of potential changes in inflation and interest rate policies.
