Some of the memin destruction transactions at the public donation address of Binance founder CZ were not carried out by him
According to online data, some memin destruction transactions appeared on the public donation address of Binance founder Zhao Changpeng (CZ) were not actually carried out by CZ himself. A token developer named "Niu Lai" uses the privileged rights in the smart contract to forcibly transfer tokens from the CZ address.
According to Arkham data, at about 4:15 pm today, three token destruction operations occurred in succession at the donation address publicly disclosed by CZ. These transactions sent 4,444 "Niu Lai" memes, 4,444 MarsCoins, and 4,444 "Binance Life" tokens to the destruction address.
However, the investigation found that the destruction of 4,444 "Niu Lai" tokens with contract addresses beginning with 0xD043B6 was not initiated by CZ. The transaction is processed by the address 0xcf86... 383 execution, the address was confirmed to be the developer of the token.
Based on on-chain data, the developer defined a privileged authorization through a smart contract and minted 1 billion tokens for its own address. They then sent approximately 800 million tokens to CZ's address. Then, using the transferFrom function in the contract, 4,444 tokens were transferred from the CZ address to the destruction address without CZ's active transaction.
Due to this operation method, the online tracking platform may display the transaction as "From: Zhao Changpeng". However, it should be clear that CZ's address does not grant any authorization to the token or its developer. Therefore, transaction records alone do not mean that CZ supported the token, participated in the project, or consciously destroyed it.
It is reported that similar tactics have been previously precedent. In 2025, a token project called CAAB sent approximately 80% of the total supply of tokens directly to CZ's donation address, and used this to promote "CZ holds the token", thereby artificially pushing up the market value of the token in the short term.
Another account states that another token called SHORT sent 99.9% of its supply to the CZ address. After CZ cleaned up and destroyed the tokens, the price rose briefly, and the project team sold the tokens during this period.
