Long-time Shiba Inu community member responds to concerns about Shibarium's operations
Long-time Shiba Inu community member Mazrael recently responded to concerns about Shibarium's operating status. Shibarium is a two-layer blockchain network developed by the Shiba Inu Ecosystem. Previously, a project that had been attached to the network claimed it was unreliable.
K9 Finance project ends operations raising doubts
K9 Finance, a project previously operating on Shibarium, announced that it has ended its activities and relocated its asset KNINE from Shibarium to the Base network. The project developers mentioned a series of problems after the alleged hacking of Shibarium in September 2025, claiming that the Shibarium network and its blockchain browser were unstable in performance and unreliable access.
In its final statement, K9 Finance said that since the incident, neither Shibarium nor its browser have been able to operate stably and said the network is currently unreliable.
Community refutes claims that the network is unreliable
Mazrael refutes these claims, emphasizing that Shibarium is still running and is supported by a well-functioning infrastructure. He pointed out that verification nodes and archive nodes still exist, and on-chain activities continue.
Mazrael said: "The infrastructure is still running, with both verification nodes and archiving infrastructure, thousands of transactions and on-chain work every day, as well as environmental migrations. People are still building, CCIP channels are online with all major chains, transactions continue, infrastructure is still being maintained and migrated, and communities continue to operate around it."
Mazrael distinguishes the end of K9 Finance's operations from the overall state of Shibarium, emphasizing that the closure of a single project does not mean that the second-layer network itself is shutting down.
Since the dissolution of K9 Foundation, all related liquidity and KNINE tokens have been migrated to Base, an Ethereum-based layer 2 network supported by Coinbase.
Microdictionary: Base is a two-layer network of Ethereum developed in collaboration with Coinbase to provide scalability and lower cost for decentralized applications through optimistic aggregation techniques.
Shibarium browser failure and migration
ShibariumScan, Shibarium's official blockchain browser, is undergoing a reset and has completed 49% of block indexing. This situation may prevent users from viewing the latest data directly from the browser. The current daily volume stands at 1530, down from 2310 reported on August 20.
Date| daily trading volume| Indexed Blocks
August| 2310| Unspecified
Current| 1530| 49%
Earlier, on August 11, ShibariumScan migrated to use Cloudflare services. This change is attributed to DNS adjustments during the infrastructure update process. Although the switch caused temporary interruptions, Mazrael said the migrations were an effort to continue maintaining and improve Shibarium's operational stability.
Cloudflare is a major Internet infrastructure provider that was originally used only for DNS services in the Shibarium architecture. After August 11, DNS is fully proxy through Cloudflare, which is consistent with the browser being brought back online with default settings. The brand logo and.shib configuration have not yet been restored, and historical data backfilling has not yet been completed, but the browser is currently accessible and running online.
