XRP Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse unexpectedly revealed his holdings in Solana and advised investors to diversify.
While discussing why investors might choose XRP over other competitive cryptocurrencies, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse made a surprising statement. Crypto enthusiast Diana shared a tweet that included comments from Garlinhaus. He disclosed that he owned some Solana (SOL) and did not view Solana as a competitor to Ripple. His remarks also challenge the view that Ripple CEO should promote XRP at the expense of other major cryptocurrencies.
Galinghaus recommends holding multiple cryptocurrencies
During the discussion, a listener asked Galinghaus why someone should choose XRP over Solana, and how he would compare the two cryptocurrencies. Galinghouse rejected the idea that he should persuade investors to buy XRP. Instead, he described strategies he recommended to people close to him.
"I'm honest with my close friends: I'm not here to persuade you to buy XRP," Garlinhaus said."What I'll tell you is, buy the top five cryptocurrencies and hold them for five years, and you'll do well."
Subsequently, Garlinhouse disclosed that he owned some Solana. He also rejected the label "XRP Maximalist" and explained that for various reasons, he remained bullish on multiple cryptocurrencies.
