Lotte Wallet launches physical Shiba Inu Coin Commemorative Coins to enrich the product line around digital assets
Japanese technology giant Lotte Wallet recently launched a physical Shiba Inu Coin Commemorative Coins, which marks the fifth product in its brand's "Real Coin" series.
Unlike previously issued physical commemorative coins such as Bitcoin, Ethereum and Ripple, this Shiba Inu commemorative coin uses sandblasting technology for the first time to create a unique matte texture. This technology, known as "sandblasting finishing," gives the commemorative coin an excellent feel and visual effect. It is reported that in the company's internal testing, this commemorative coin has won unanimous praise from all employees.
What needs to be clear is that this commemorative coin is a collectible item, not a blockchain asset. Lotte Wallet positions it as part of an offline interactive strategy that allows users to personally encounter and experience physical replicas of encryption themes during events.
Retail promotion for 44 million users
Lotte Wallet launched this physical Shiba Inu commemorative coin to its 44 million users, aiming to promote offline retail interaction. These metal commemorative coins will be presented to participants free of charge at the event site.
The company believes that the launch of metallic collectibles will help cautious Japanese consumers access and understand crypto-assets more naturally. Millions of Japanese users can also exchange Lotte points for Shiba Inu coins and use the Lotte payment system to spend at 5 million retail outlets across the country.
Rakuten is aiming to establish itself as japan's leading retail portal before large investment funds are allowed to enter the market legally. The promotion of physical commemorative coins also further intensified the competition between Lotte and local competitors. [TAG
Another Japanese platform, Mercari, has integrated Shibainu trading into its consumer-to-consumer app, allowing 23 million users to buy the token for as little as 1 yen. According to Mercoin's earnings report, this strategy successfully attracted 4 million users, 85% of whom were first exposed to digital assets.
This promotion initiative for the retail sector of meme tokens is based on a solid regulatory foundation. The Japan Virtual and Cryptographic Asset Trading Association officially recognized Shiba Inu as a compliant asset in November 2025, clearing the way for its widespread use in commercial and promotion fields. Last month, Japan's House of Representatives also passed a bill to move crypto regulation from the Payment Services Act to under the framework of the Financial Instruments and Transactions Act.
